E-club trade in on ERC-1 is $125. Retail on ERC-3 is $499. $499-$125= $374. Current sale price - $359. Just buy one on sale now and sell your ERC-1 separately. If you already belong to e-club sale price is $323.10.

I have the ERC-1 and it sounds great, but I've been using my Oppo of late through HDMI and I think it sounds at least as good as the ERC-1. The thing about the Oppo is it does so much more than the ERC and the cost is similar..

The OPPO didn't come close to the ERC both thru the pre and then direct to the AVR. The 105 with superior analogue stage if expect closer though. |

The Oppo's have always gotten stellar reviews for redbook CD replication no matter the model. I had someone at Oppo tell me that he thought the 93 sounded better (to his ears) than the 103 which is odd, I even created a thread about it sometime ago.. The XMC-1 plays a big role in this IMHO not to mention the XPR-1's. Of course YMMV  |

CDs thru HDMI, in any instance I have tried it, is severely inferior, IMO, than even the most basic of CD players. (If it is listed in your sig, forgive me as I am using the Proboards app and sigs aren't seen) |
