holy schi.....................ddddttttt......... i just hooked up the dc-1.............. and replaced my xda-2 with it. the improvement is amazing. not subtle at all. i am playing from my mac to my stealth 8's and everything about it is wonderful. bass, midrange, highs, transparency, dynamics, timbre, texture, liquidity, coherency.... pick a characteristic.....its there...... in spades.......... Dan told me at the chicago event this last july that when i hear the dc-1 in the system i will sch....tttt my pants. well, i have been able to control my bowels but i can't stop smiling. hey y'all... if it is in your budget go with the dc-1, or if someone is selling used...take it. now, if i could only afford the stealth 6's and replace my office airmotive 6's and buy another dc-1 in place of the xda-1... imagine $1297 for 2 stealth 6's and a dc-1 and if you are an eclub member 10% off that. (not gonna happen for me anytime soon but it would be nice). whoooo boyyyyyy...... tchaik.............

The DC-1 is a great DAC! I'm glad so many others enjoy it as much as I do. Good stuff.

One of my biggest regrets in life is selling my DC-1. I sold it to pay my car insurance, so I didn't have much choice though. I will be getting another ASAP!!! Simply an amazing DAC IMO. Glad to see you enjoying yours.

I fully concur. The DC-1 is an outstanding component.

I only use it as a headphone amp and It is excellent with my Grados. I don't plan on selling it. ( unless it sounds the same via the XMC headphone out, and even then maybe not.)

The DC-1 is simply the most versatile piece of audio gear I've ever purchased plus it sounds fantastic and a huge bargain to boot. The magic box has transformed by system and, for better or worse, has killed my audiophile restlessness.

I think the DC-1 could be the greatest product from Emotiva yet. So much for them being know just for great amps, as some people say.

I watched the Unboxing on Youtube last night and that must have been the sexiest thing I've seen in weeks!
Um Yeah, life has changed for me a bit.

Yup. I have my DC-1 going direct into a nearly 30-year-old Conrad-Johnson MV50 amplifier, playing Diana Krall's "Only Trust Your Heart" from my PC through the DC-1's USB input. Speakers are equally venerable Spica TC-50s (with a Hsu TN1220 subwoofer). Quite luscious.
