Has anyone seen / heard about Tidal HiFi? There is very little information so far, but looking at 1400 kbs lossless streaming. All they have so far is a link to sign up for future information lnc.hr/zuLQb I have signed up, as i have been trying to find something to fill the void of MOG. Beats being more expensive, and something that just does not feel right. The MOG guys really seemed to have been screwed in the sale to Beats, and then the huge mark-up in re-sale to Apple. Just out of that i have a sour taste in my mouth. I still use Apple Radio, but the options with MOG to download playlists and listen in the car or in the air was great. Any other options out their? My fall back position is just using my iPod classic, it is back on apple operating system due to ease of moving music...

Isn't Qobuz in the French equivalent of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization?

Yes, but for at least the next four months really no high quality alternative. I enjoy it daily!

Chapter 11 bankruptcy is a protection protocol that gives a company time to restructure its finances while being protected from its creditors.
General Motors has filed chapter 11 before. Pizza Hut. Google it and be amazed at how many big name companies have filed chapter 11.
This does not mean that Qobuz is out. At the end of four months the verdict will be out though. In the meantime jump on board with them. Give them some support. We audiophile types need them! Listen to their lossless streaming and you will instantly hear why there are they best thing going right now!

I really don't understand everyone concerned about .00000001% differences in distortion while ignoring room treatment and high quality source material, the two most important elements of good sound, along with speakers.
Get Qobuz or Tidal, and get good sound!

Ok, when I initially tried to sign up I got a popup message saying that the service was as yet unavailable in the U.S., but to submit my email address to receive updates. I'm assuming there's some kind if workaround?
Thanks...A.

i managed to create an account and getting running on the mac and ipad. however, i used my vnp and uk address to get started, and after that it was fine. there does seem to be issues with some music will not load / play for my IP address when i am off the vpn. quality seems good so far. will give it a play.
i dont think much about the interface and selection process.
Not sure when Tidal will be available or what it will be like, cost, etc. very very little information out there.

This gets your email address into their system. 2) Email to support@qobuz.com and request that you want to try their service, and that you are located in the U.S. You will receive a confirmation email that you are ready to go. 3) Sign up for the 30day free trial to see if you like it. Download the HD App and put on your desktop. You will click this from here on out to access Qobuz. 4) Use Google Translate to translate from French to English. When setting things up be sure to select English as the default language. The interface has a little learning curve, but not bad at all.

Islandman -- I appreciate the pointers. French is actually the one foreign language I can speak and read with some degree of success, so maybe translation won't be necessary. Anyway, I'll plunge in and report back. :-)
Merci bien!

Beats music is also 320kb. 9.99 a month and supposedly the user interface is much better than Spotify.

What great sound. Myself and audiobill have been using it a while....so, if you have any questions about it feel free to ask! ================================================================================= " French is actually the one foreign language I can speak and read with some degree of success, so maybe translation won't be necessary" Lol, you remind me of my daughter. She is in her 3rd year of high school French, and switches Qobuz back to French so she can practice translating. She gloats in teaching me what is says, lol. My grandparents came from Paris, so she is into our French heritage. Our last name is Bignault (pronounced Benyo) oui oui!

On the app, be sure you're on "hi-fi" (16/44), rather than 320 on user preferences.

Well pleased with Rdio Music 320Kbps and $4.95 / month A free trial available www.rdio.com I've read great things about Rdio's layout, interface, etc. I just wished they offered lossless streaming. After being spoiled by Qobuz' fidelity I can never go back to MP3's.
