For me...selling my DCM QED's. I loved those...needed more amp for them, and I should have bought a new amp instead of selling them.

Selling my DC-1. I immediately started missing it, and regret getting rid of it. I (sort of) had to, but still...I sorely miss it.

Acquiring of Burson Audio. Good, but too expensive.

Biggest mistake, selling my '63 Fender Concert guitar amp, 35 whopping tube Watts and (4) 10" Jensens, sounded great! But big power came along so I sold it in about 69/70 and built a Dynaco Stereo 120, didn't work out. I have a daily Pete Townshend ritual where a smash a guitar over my head to remind me never to do that again.

I am already regretting the idea of selling the stereo and going back to school with the funds. OU will cost me $22,000 for the 1 year It would take to finish a second degree. Stereo would be worth $17,500 if I sold on the used market. : /

Although not a recent mistake, I regret leaving my boxes of records at my mother's place when I left the UK. Wanting to clear out space, she put them up in the attic(!) and needless to say they were all warped. Along with some goodies, I had some quite rare specimens.

It runs more along the lines as a tragedy, though not earth ending but a very real heartache!

You gotta lot of time on your hands to think of such thought provoking subjects.... Actually, no. I don't. It's the most precious thing I have. I'm involved a lot with several different community projects as well as a couple of businesses, marriage and raising a couple of 80 year old parents. This is a hobby, another community, passion and yes, sometimes thought provoking place to meet and greet. As well as learn and teach. Less on the teach with me,,,,,he,,,,he,,,,, have to learn a lot more. Life is so short and fragile. anyway, I can multitask very well also. No time to spare, too much to do. God bless and good night all.

So where do they point to now? behind you? how much? I might try that at home! My biggest mistake was in cabling after I moved. Re-cabled all the HT setup, and no sound coming out... Checked all fuses, all inputs setup, reset the pre to factory default (it was a Rotel 1098), speaker cables terminations... unplugged everything to replug everything Until I realized I had used the pre-in to go from pre to amp instead of pre out ;o) I also regret buying a Nuforce amp, not worth the money at all.

Hi nick! You ever catch all my posts about how important toe in is ? hehe! Also of surprise, small movements of the speaker, closer and farther apart from each other AND also the same towards you.
Okay - my so stupid mistakes. 1. Stepping on my HD600's and breaking the carbon fiber headband. Now it's held on by string and superglue! Still sounds great though. 2. Reviewing my USP-1 unit which I had paired with the XPA-2 and an XDA-1. I wrote many pages of gushing reviews about how great the sound was until I noticed that both my bass speakers on the right tower were not hooked up! Hehe. A similar situation happened recently with some gear but I am too embarrassed to talk about that!
3. But my number one regret is - not spending the cash - no matter how tight and upgrading my audio and video gear earler. Usually my purchases tend to be wise and solid but I put it off because of the large expenditure involved. But whenever I get a new piece of gear, I always think - what was I thinking waiting so long?!

Selling my Dynaudio Gemini's with the outboard BESL crossovers. I've had a few replacements since then but all poor subs. Even Dynaudio 72 SE's and 1.3MK3 were not quite as good. No luck finding a decent used pair at a fair price.

My biggest mistake was using iTunes to archive my CD collection. Although that software works perfectly for most, it never did for me. I still haven't had time to re-rip all the music that iTunes deleted.

I still haven't had time to re-rip all the music that iTunes deleted. Having suffered from this malady I no longer use ByeTunes. It had decided to mangle my entire music collection and it took ages to re-rip. That's time I won't get back.

When I sold my pristine LP collection (About 600 at the time) for $.50 each right after buying my first CD Player, the Sony CDP-350. I figured I'd replace 'em all with CDs. I was waaay wrong.

Sigh..... Selling my Tannoy HPD385, 15" Dual Concentrics, as I needed to downsize.... Got a set of much smaller and just OK Tannoys. Not only was I never really happy with the sound of the new ones, the HPDs continued to appreciate in value, I could have moved them for 3 times the price today.
Must say though, very happy with my current main speakers, the VAF DC-X Mk.IV ..... but still not the Tannoys.

My worst mistake ?
Buying $40K worth of Bang & Olufsen audio gear. Great looking stuff, really well designed and built, sounded fine, but WAY over priced!! The gear was more a statement about industrial design than value for money.

No luck finding a decent used pair at a fair price. I have the Geminis with BESL crossovers, driven by 140wpc tube monoblocks. They have to be among the best speakers I've ever heard!
