Man, I could not get it to work at all with my Harmony 100. Had the UMC -1 codes working OK. Uploaded the XMC codes... asked it to use HDMI 1, and got analog 2. Maybe I did something wrong, but every macro was wrong. I'd like to just use the buttons I programmed on the Emotiva remote (1-8) but not sure how to do that on the Harmony.
Will keep looking. Would be interesting to see if others have these issues.

When I went to say "play movie", everything turned on correctly, but the input which should have been HDMI 1 on the XMC-1, changed to Analog 2 (SACD) in my case as above. I then had to toggle to the correct input to get a picture. Looks like something is not configured correctly. I suppose I could tell Harmony to use Analog 1 which may actually be HDMI 1? I'll give that a shot later.

It's probably because the input buttons on the XMC are assignable to any of the inputs unlike the UMC.

That may be it, but I don't know how to get around it. If the Harmony software knew about the programmable buttons on the XMC-1 I could just assign those, but I don't see a way to do it...
If the Harmony remote knows what, for example HDMI 1 is, than I should get HDMI on the XMC, but I get something else. Sometimes the XMC-1 starts running through every possible input and I have to turn it off... something amiss somewhere. Wonder if Emotiva tested this. They had months...

Mel When I switched out my UMC for the XMC, my existing activities worked except for the input selection. I had to push each input button on the UMC remote to see which activated the input I needed then just changed the activity to use that selection and everything worked fine. I'll probably add the XMC as a device and not remove the UMC. Then I won't have to mess with my activities since they are working perfectly right now.

Whatever is going on with the XMC-1 codes doesn't seem like simple substitutions. I'm at the point where I have an activity called Watch TV.. it turns on my DirecTV box, my flat screen, the Emotiva AMPS and XMC-1. Then I change to watch a blu-ray and suddenly the XMC starts shuffling through every input... tuner, analog, USB, etc etc... the whole list. So something seriously out of whack. No such issues with the UMC-200 codes, or any other device I've put into the Logitech.
I'm wasting a lot of time simply trying to use the XMC-1, and the remotes codes don't appear to have been thoroughly tested.

Mel,
There is a setting in the Harmony app that asks you "when you change inputs, does the device skip unused inputs?" When I check yes, it shows a list of inputs and you check the ones that are used for that activity. I have not tried it yet, but I'm assuming it will skip the ones not used.

Here's what's happening for me... Standby - Select Activity - Turns Everything on, Sets Proper Input, then Changes to the Next Input Activity is Active - Select a Different Activity - Turns XMC-1 Off, Triggers Amps to Turn Off - Selects Proper Activity, Turns XMC-1 back on, Triggers Amps, then Changes to the Next Input Press Off Button - All Devices besides the XMC-1 turn off with the amps remaining un-triggered. To say the least, something is messed up for sure. I'll play around with the settings a bit more and if nothing works, I'll revert back to the UMC-1 codes as that better than what I have now.

Mel I just noticed that on my Harmony Ultimate, that Logitech did not include the direct input commands. There is no Button 1, Button 2, or any other direct input buttons. That's why your remote won't select HDMI 3; There is no HDMI 3 command in their command set. You may want to teach those missing commands using the learn function and the original XMC remote.

I have no direct buttons showing up in the Harmony software, but my Harmony remote shows all the options on the XMC-1 like HDMI 1,2,3 etc, analog in, USB, direct etc etc. If I did have the direct buttons I'd be home free.
So not sure what the issue is, but I am not alone.

But using the UMC command set and switching the input selections all my activities work flawlessly. Go figure.

I recorded every button on the remote, saved the device as XMC1 and have successfully created activities.

In my copy of the preliminary manual there is one mention of the harmony Remote:
"XMC-1 IR Remote Control Codes Information in this section is still Preliminary. The final version will contain a list of the IR Remote Control codes - for use with harmony and other universal remotes."
I don't have a Harmony Ultimate. Just a Harmony One. Worked great with the UMC-200.
