I'd like to use my DC-1 only as a DAC with my XMC-1. Is it possible to configure the setup so that the outputs are through the XMC-1, thus allowing me to use bass management--or at least utilize the subs (I have 2 subwoofers)? I have attempted to use the digital out on the XMC-1 to feed to the DC-1, but I can't seem to find how to switch the XMC-1 so that the digital out can be utilized. I figure I need to utilize the analog outputs on the DC-1, but can I connect the outputs to the XMC-1's inputs. Is this configuration even possible?

You should hook up the analog inputs to the XMC. But to get bass management the xmc will convert the DC-1 analog back to digital to do this. I personally would bypass the DC-1 altogether and use the XMC's DAC myself. Use the DC-1 as a headphone rig if you have cans or put it up for sale. The dacs in the XMC should be the equal of the dc-1.
At least that is what I would do in your situation.

Yeah, I just use the XMC-1 DAC now. I just didn't want to part with the DC-1 so was looking for a way to incorporate it into my system and still get all the subwoofer goodness.

I guess if you want to use the DC-1 and the XMC I would suggest you run your digital two channel sources into the DC-1. Take the balanced out of the DC-1 and run it into the balanced input on the XMC-1.

Get a pair of Airmotives and use the DC-1 into them for a computer system, works great! Otherwise I agree with bootman, too many D2A & A2D to use the DC-1 and XMC-1 together.
