I know Emotiva has the XPA-200 and I have posted that I am looking for a used one of those, but thought I would ask if anyone knows of any other options. 12x11 room size.

Honestly, it's gonna be hard to beat a new one from Emotiva for $339 Shipped. There's a used one on eBay that's already at $280 shipped and will sell for more. The XPA-200 is, I think, the only amp left to be given the Gen II treatment. It's regularly $399 and will probably be more once the Gen I supply is exhausted which could be any day. I'd grab one while they are available.
Only my opinion.....

I am sure you can potentially find a used Crown amp for that much.

used Crown or used Emotiva amps are your only bet.

I have yet to hear a digital amp that compares to a well designed class A/B.
The Crown amps are digital BTW.
They do not sound edgy like many digital amps and have sonic characteristics similar to the International Rectifier PWM amps.
Smooth operators but lacking in high frequency detail.
Avoid IMHO unless used for LFE/bass drivers.

I think it depends on the speaker. I loved my crown xls with my Goldenear tritons, but hated it with my tekton mlore.

I think it depends on the speaker. I loved my crown xls with my Goldenear tritons, but hated it with my tekton mlore. Those Tektons are the speakers with the three Vifa dual ring tweeters right? I've used that tweeter in a DIY design and didn't really like it as it has huge off axis issues. I can't imagine the phase C2C and combing issues with that design even if there is a electrical tilt in the xover. One look at that loudspeaker and I know I wouldn't like it and I honestly question the design from a technical standpoint.

The Mlore is their MT version not the MTTTM version called the Pendragon that I was thinking of.
Why can't Tekton even bother to recess the flange on the drivers?
Not a good sign IMHO and I don't understand why Eric Alexander doesn't recess the woofer flange.
I also still do not understand the logic in that three tweeter array design he's obsessed with including trying to file a patent on it.
Let me put it this way, if I was looking for a loudspeaker designer, I wouldn't request the services of Eric Alexander or Ian Colquhoun with their multi tweeter designs.
Can you say sibilance!!!

I was impressed with it anyway. Eric, on the other hand, I am not impressed with. I had a problem with one of the speakers he sold me, not a big deal, but I ended up returning the speakers based on his reaction to my problem. He basically called me an idiot over the phone, and then proceeded to tell my I was a liar, and that there is no way the speaker left his factory with any problems.

His MT designs are fine but you could build the same speaker DIY with little to no effort. As for the other multi tweeter designs, I have heard them and thought they were HORRIBLE with brutal sibilance due to phase and combing issues. The only other worse loudspeakers I've heard from an ID outfit are the Axiom towers. I honestly don't think Alex or Ian are decent loudspeaker designers and I'm refraining from what I really think of the two of them... Any loudspeaker that Positive Feedback gives the thumbs up to with addspace from the company in review right next to the review should be met with utter incredulity. I would not trust a single thing published at Positive Feedback!

solidstate, IMHO the Tektons with three tweeters sound great in my room for both HT and 2 channel listening. I have owned Stealth 8's and I have Airmotiv 6's, MMG's and MG III's and with all that, I am still very impressed with the imaging, sound stage and fullness of the Tekton Pendragon Monitors. I know there are a ton of variables that go into any given listening experience, but I am very impressed with the Tektons in comparison across that mix. Again just my experience and opinion.

That's just a function of the speakers sensitivity more than anything. I have not heard the Emo Stealths but I'm apprehensive about that Adam driver in them as Adam has been binsorting and selling off the less performing drivers to third parties. Take a look at the measurements that have been done on PE Dayton drivers from the same source. It's not good... As for the MMGs etc, I'm not a fan at all of the Magnepan speakers. After I did some serious auditioning for high sensitivity pro speakers like Danley and the JTR offerings I completely changed my beliefs on loudspeakers. You can't beat the high dynamics of a high sensitivity pro audio inspired loud speaker. I also have to say some of the old school single driver designs the old school guys are into where the drivers are a true point source... They might lack the dynamics but something can be said for a true point source design! These are the types of designs I'm talking about. www.frugal-horn.com/I've heard Tangband has a nice full range driver out that those guys really like.

Yeah, I heard the Voxativ Ampeggio at an Audio Conference a few years back and they were amazing. That said, they were $33,000 at retail.
