I have an XDA-2 (gen1) as the front end of my system (see components in sig). I am looking to do something different with my sub, but I'll need bass management. So, I can add a pre-amp with bass management but that seems like overkill for what I am using. Or, I can get a DAC with a pre that has bass management and ditch the XDA-2, but these seem few and far between. Any tips or advice?
(Looking to do 2 sealed subs instead of the one ported REL. Currently run my speakers full range and use the low crossover on the REL to come in below. Realizing that to upgrade, I need bass management.)

Easiest/cheapest way would be to ditch the separates and get a good HT receiver. I had a USP-1/XDA-2/UPA-2 combo for a computer system and replaced the stack with a used Pioneer SC-1222 that I bought from a lounge member. It was a third of the cost of the Emotiva front end and does BM, dac and amp duties in one box. And no more cable clutter. If you want to keep your separates and are looking for a cheap bm solution, there is the minidsp 2x4. But it will add another ad/da conversion between your dac and amps.

before you buy anything, how about close the ports on your dali speakers with something, move the speakers away from corners, add bass traps then toying with sub settings ?
