Gentlemen, International customers are NOT being charged for freight to have their Dirac kits shipped to them. Who starts all this crap? Is is just everyone's need to move from one "crisis" to another? It's exhausting. As always we are treating everyone in an honest and ethical manner. We bend over backwards to do the right thing by our customers. Why would anyone think we would do anything else? There are important things to discuss and worry about; this is not one of them. Sorry, but really... Dan, you have multiple people in multiple locations saying they are being asked to pay postage. Why would they make it up?

All the duties & taxes were paid when you received the XMC-1, and you have the receipt to prove it. The Dirac kit is not a new purchase, just the balance of your previous XMC-1 shipment, the duties have already been paid for it and you don't pay twice. If some customs officer is trying to charge you, you need to point out his error.

I'm not sure who you are speaking of. No one that I am aware of has told me of a specific person or persons who has/have been charged. All I know is that we had a staff meeting last week and this issue was specifically addressed and we all agreed there would be no freight charge for Dirac kits, for obvious reasons. This is our policy and intent. However, if someone has been told their was a charge for this, they were misinformed. I apologize in advance.
If anyone has been charged incorrectly, contact the office or me at dan@emotiva.com and I will personally apologize to you and correct the situation immediately.

They did quote me almost $100 to ship the mic and I'm trying to work that out. Until I get the mic the key is irrelevant I guess. and one in Canada. In Canada here. Was quoted $60 to ship the mic. That's how it got started in this place, more than 24 hours ago, plenty of discussion since. Yours was the first post - from anyone - that offered contrary information. Glad you made it.

I know at times it can be rough and people can pile things on but please remember there are a ton of us out there who really appreciate what you are doing. Calling is not easy due to the time difference. I apologize if I started something. you can see from my post I was not complaining, but stating a fact based on a email and I said I was "trying to work it out". The email was replied to by me asking for USPS Priority delivery at a fraction of the cost and I have not heard back yet. I also copied Cathy in on it so management would be aware. Again, I'm sorry if I started something, it was unintended.

Was not trying to start rumors, or get any sort of resolution here, just wanted to confirm that I received a similar shipping quote to Mike. I can provide the email I received if you like. I have not paid or received shipping details yet so no worries there. Mike and I could be unique situations as well, as I had my XMC shipped to a US address at the boarder (sounds like Mike sent it to a friend on shore to forward it) and now we are looking to have it sent direct to our home address. I should have clarified in my original post. I emailed to ask to send the kit directly to my Canadian address and that is when I was provided with the shipping quote. Cheers

OK gentlemen, I'm at work and I have researched the situation where people have allegedly been charged freight for their International Dirac kit shipments...
Well, as usual, things are not what they seem at first glance, nor are they being accurately represented by the people complaining about the situation.
NO ONE who has had an XMC-1 shipped from here Internationally has, or will, be charged International freight. However, if you purchased an XMC-1 and had it shipped to a DOMESTIC address and did not pay for International shipping in the first place, you are going to have to pay extra to have it shipped out of the country., If you want it shipped to the original domestic shipping point, that's free.
The only people who are upset about having to pay International shipping fees for their Dirac kits had their units sent to a USA address. This is not within our control and we will not, and cannot, accept shipping responsibility for the final location of the unit.
I hope you can understand our position here. As much as we want to accommodate our customers, there are limits to what are able to absorb cost wise. I just want to clarify the actual situation, once and for all.
So, now you know the rest of the story....
