Very reasonable, indeed.
Now, on to the next crisis. I was told by a reliable source that Emotiva was going to add a toilet paper surcharge onto every order to cover the rising cost of TP at the Emo HQ.
What is this world coming to? Can't they just lay off the chili?

OK gentlemen, I'm at work and I have researched the situation where people have allegedly been charged freight for their International Dirac kit shipments... Well, as usual, things are not what they seem at first glance, nor are they being accurately represented by the people complaining about the situation. NO ONE who has had an XMC-1 shipped from here Internationally has, or will, be charged International freight. However, if you purchased an XMC-1 and had it shipped to a DOMESTIC address and did not pay for International shipping in the first place, you are going to have to pay extra to have it shipped out of the country., If you want it shipped to the original domestic shipping point, that's free. The only people who are upset about having to pay International shipping fees for their Dirac kits had their units sent to a USA address. This is not within our control and we will not, and cannot, accept shipping responsibility for the final location of the unit. I hope you can understand our position here. As much as we want to accommodate our customers, there are limits to what are able to absorb cost wise. I just want to clarify the actual situation, once and for all. So, now you know the rest of the story.... Again? he,,,,,he,,,,he,,,,,,

I'm not an international customer but would it be possible to use FedEx or USPS (or whatever carrier you prefer) to generate a shipping label and email it to Emotiva for use?

I ordered my 2nd XMC-1 directly thru Cathy too (I recognize that nice voice Big Dan..haha) and thought she would hook me up...darn! Didn't work . Wow, I feel like a drug addict .

I called in an purchased my unit as soon as I received the email notice (Tuesday) My card has been charged and my 40% card should be delivered today. That should hopefully mean I get my unit in time for Christmas. While I am excited to finally be getting my XMC-1 with mic kit, I can understand why the early adopters are aren't entirely happy I will have a complete product before they do. That said, there is no way I am giving up my (hopefully soon to be received) mic kit to someone else!

So when I read that folks received their XMC-1 just recently with mic.....and are on day 10 waiting for a code....seems like you are way ahead of me! We are coming up to the end of the second week of shipping kits..... Well, we are the same. Having a mic doesn't do me any good without the activation code. I think because I ordered mine at the end of November and shipped on 12/4, I'm probably one of the last ones they built with the older firmware. Had I waited a couple of weeks, I would have had it delivered with the activation code. But I wanted to get this ordered before mid-december when the wifey would have put the brakes. At least I got the XMC-1 since I threw it in during the hoopla black friday buying craze. We don't have to complain or tell Emotiva about it for them to realize this roll-out was far from optimal in terms of delivering on-time with everything in an organized manner. Remember they are a small company who tries their best, not a giant corporation who are extremely structured and have procedures for everything. I'm okay with that because within that lies a tremendous savings and ability to get products with levels of quality unheard of at these prices. I know for many of you like me, the XMC-1 was not an "easy" purchase cost wise. But it still is a relative bargain...trust me.

I received my XMC-1 at the end of September. I love how it transformed my music listening experience from day 1. Movies are fantastic as well. If there is an improvement when Dirac arrives then I will be blown away and even happier than I am now!
After reading Big Dan's comments I felt bad that he and Cathy and the Team were not able to get through the Holiday Season riding high on Holiday Cheer.
Dan and Cathy, and the Emotiva Team, You manufacture great products. I believe your hearts are in the right place. I know you're running at full speed to get through the XMC-1 product launch/completion and I appreciate all your effort.

I received my "Dirac Is shipping to you" notice on Dec. 5th but have not gotten the kit. Strangely, I received my activation code today..................... Still waiting.....................

Received my first XMC-1 October 23 but had to return because it was defective. Received the replacement November 4. Works great.
I have not received either the mic kit or the key email as of this time. I understand I would be a tail end Charlie when it came to receiving these things, so will wait. But, we were told all those that were on the Reserve list would get these items or have them on the way by today. Still a few hours left in the work day so there is still a chance. I am not holding my breath.
Unless the key is tied directly to a specific mic, it seems like they could at least send that to me so I could get that installed (and placate me to some degree).
Just blowing off steam. Was hoping to get everything up and running before Christmas.

Sad and disappointed to see that the actual xmc-1's buyers will enjoy the Dirac before the early adopters, also sad to not receive it in time for the Christmas holidays vacation.

I got my shipping notice today. Arrival December 29. (ugh!) Got my key last last Monday.
Received my XMC-1 in early September.
