I guess you will either get a notification.....or you won't. Appears to be a mystery. Good things come to those who wait, eh?

Considering that it says "at the request of Emotiva", I would say that came from UPS... We're connected to them by computer, so they get a notification when we tell them we have something scheduled to ship. Then, when they actually pick it up and log it in at one of their locations, it officially enters the tracking system. I am signed up with My Ups and received a notification of shipping ,here is what it said.
This message was sent to you at the request of Emotiva Audio Corporation to notify you that the electronic shipment information below has been transmitted to UPS. The physical package(s) may or may not have actually been tendered to UPS for shipment. To verify the actual transit status of your shipment, click on the tracking link below or contact Emotiva Audio Corporation directly.
I cant say for sure if this was sent by Emo or because I am signed up to My Ups

But do they automatically send a shipping notification or is it all linked to being part of My UPS

But do they automatically send a shipping notification or is it all linked to being part of My UPS I belive that they've generally not been sending shipping notifications for mic kits - if I understand what most people have said.

In the grand scheme of things it really makes no difference , it wont be here till it gets here. I have been lucky I guess, Emo has always provided a tracking number, so far they are 4 for 4.

Yes you should receive it in the amount of time it takes to ship from Emotiva If you are setup with "My UPS", you should receive an e-mail from UPS with the tracking info. I don't believe Emotiva is sending out e-mails with tracking numbers. Only works if you are in a supported My UPS country...I for one am not. Emotiva needs to get their shipping department smartened up with advises for ALL shipments...even via USPS.

USPS is the worst for tracking. They seem to scan in some locations and not others. At about 1/4 the price of UPS where I live I can put up with their poor tracking. The packages always get here and are never damaged, so I'm happy. Cheers Mark

It should not matter by whom or what service Emotiva sends something. It is a common courtesy to your client to advise them that something is headed their way and the mode of its delivery, and the contents. Preferable prior to it being actually shipped in case you are not able to be around when it is expected to be signed for.
The last thing I want is to be away when something turns up unexpectedly and after several failed attempts it is returned to Emotiva or worse disposed of. Then where does one stand in terms of who is to blame?

I always get multiple notifications. Tracking is a different animal. UPS and FedEx do a good job of this. USPS is getting better but is still bad.

Patience is a virtue where I live, add in the holidays and you learn to take it as it comes. Emo shipped the mic and another box the same day and I got the other box a week ago. When you live on a small island in Micronesia you learn to lower your expectations when it comes to online shopping. It has helped me be more appreciative of just being able to get something, even if it takes longer. There are worse things for sure. I spent my first weekend in January at the beach.
Cheers Mark

Cheers Mark I hear ya. I live in the Yukon in northern Canada and ups doesn't even ship they give it to someone else in Alberta though Amazon is fast since I have a prime membership. I am in no hurry, I don't have a lot of expectations for Dirac anyway, it sound great as is. I will be sending the Mic to Cross Spectrum to be calibrated any way. As for the beach , I wish . Its -30c here right now, I don't think you can be any farther from the beach.
