Looks like I may be the last guy to receive a microphone LOL . It finally showed up, but being as it is -35 I am goin to allow it to acclimate for a while. Did you get your Dirac code?

Yes I have had my code for 2 weeks or so, don't remember exactly. I connected the microphone when I got home from work and it registers in dirac and all looks tickety boo. Have to wait for my stand to show up, it was supposed to be here today but Canada post dropped the ball. Its no big deal, no plans to do measurements until the weekend. I want to prepare fully so I can do comparisons in REW so will be making sure I can position both mics in exactly the same spot for consistency of the measurements. Once that is done I will most likely send the mic to Herb at CS for calibration. Richard

UPS just leaves it on my porch and no one was home so it was out there for a few hours. I probably should have left it in the box sealed up but I couldn't resist Its funny , but going from -20 to -30 is a huge jump but -30 to -40 doesn't seem as bad, the hard part is it was -5 only a few days ago. Yeah they were hard as a rock. Its a good thing I am daft, someone else let the cat outta the bag and it went right over my head. LOL

I was under the impression the only hold up now was the microphone. Have you called to see why.

Yes I called last week and was told that Dirac key codes was distributed slow to prevent overloading the Dirac servers.....yet a lot of people that took delivery of their XMC-1 after me received their Dirac code...... I send an e-mail Monday and I got the following reply: Ole Nielsen Subject: XMC-1 serial no#231422vxxxxxx JAN 06, 2015 | 05:29PM CST Damon Steele replied: Hi Ole, I am having your Dirac key sent. Sorry for the delay. Thanks, Damon Steele Product Specialist Emotiva Audio Corporation 615.790.6754 www.emotiva.com www.emotivapro.comThat was yesterday and yet no Dirac key code e-mail....... I have spend a nice amount of $ buying Emotiva equipment the last couple of years and always valued the excellent customer service, but this time I feel like Emotiva couldn't care less. I will request a RMA no# to return the XMC-1 since Emotiva didn't fulfill their promise and I will find another place to spend my $$ on audio equipment.

Received my Dirac Kit. Loaded the software. Took all the measurements successfully 3 times. Every time I try to create filters the program shuts down. Anyone else having this problem? Windows says the program has stopped running. The XMC-1 display says downloading it's been 30 minutes and I have a pretty fast ISP. This can't be right.

Shot in the dark but maybe right click the Dirac executable and run as administrator.

Thanks for the idea. It didn't work. Everything seems fine until the delay and gain calibration portion. I don't get it.

Yes, I had that happen to me, I had consistent, repeatable crashes on a Toshiba laptop (Win 7 Pro) specifically after the filter creation when calculating delays. "Fixed" it by saving the project right before filter creation, transferring to a USB stick and loading the set to my desktop Mac under Parallels, where filter creation ran fine; since the desktop is in the same network it downloaded the filters to the XMC-1 w/o issue. Never tried running as admin. If you have another computer, install Dirac to it and cross your fingers.

I had/have the same problem, crashes when calculating the gain and delays. I'm running Vista on a 8 year old piece of junk (MAC user). After the measurements, I saved the project then I'd re-load the project if the SW crashed. Persistence paid off, after about half a dozen tries the filter data eventually loaded. I was running in Admin, my firewall disabled, and the PC hard wired to my network.

I would try running the computer in safe mode with networking. Things like this can be frustrating, it could be something as simple as a lack of hard drive space or even a bad stick of ram or just a bad dll .

Thank you all for your suggestions. Persistence did finally pay off by saving the project at each step. I am using Windows 7 on a Gateway Laptop.
