After much deliberation, I went with a Cambridge Audio CXC transport with a Simaudio Moon 280D DAC. Super pleased with the results. The 280D is an amazing performer. Simaudio products are worth a look at if you are thinking about upgrading your components.

consider any transport with the dc-1 dac. to my ears, a great great sounding dac. +1 I just got my DC-1 and purchased it rather than the Cambridge Audio Azur 851 (flagship dac/pre). The DC-1 was 1/4 the price but money wasn't a consideration. I've heard the 851 and figured I would return the DC-1. Was I wrong. Hooked up to a Monarchy Audio jitter filter then into my XSP-1 I really enjoy how musical and non fatiguing the sound is. Actually I'm surprised it doesn't sell for more money. Btw, I'm not a fanboy. Just a guy who loves music and has been fiddling with home audio most of my life.
