Finally got it to work on all spots. Just kept experimenting with levels. Really a pain, but it sounds good. Still would like to know what the error message means.

Need some help in re-establishing my Dirac LE when the XMC-1 has been put into another room and is with a different computer. Can install the original software and it asks for name and password to operate. After 3 years I no longer remember the password and there is no option for resetting. Tried to call Emotiva and they are on vacation. Any ideas?

Hi- what is the difference between XMC1 using Dirac vs MiniDsp using Dirac? In what cases an XMC1 owner should buy MiniDsp?
Thanks

Hi- what is the difference between XMC1 using Dirac vs MiniDsp using Dirac? In what cases an XMC1 owner should buy MiniDsp? Thanks Depends which minidsp you use. The 88a offers full Dirac on 8 channels with 4 presets. Xmc offers Dirac lite or for an extra charge Dirac full on upto 8 channels. Minidsp also offers a 2x4 with Dirac which would be useful for those only running 2.1 Xmc owners wouldn’t benefit from minidsp with Dirac. However as foggy has pointed out a 2x4 or bigger is VERY useful in aligning multiple subwoofers to allow Dirac to eq as one unit. For now. Hopefully the new Dirac algorithm and plugins will do this for you at some point.

Heys I need a little advice here. When setting the levels in dirac software for each speaker I not able to get matching levels on different speakers(channels). For example on front left/right I am barely able to get the level(blue shading) in the green area but on the remaining speakers C/LS/RS/LBS/RBS im going over -12db and getting close to the end of the green area which i think is -6db. My F/R speakers are running on a XPA-2 gen 3 while the rest are running on a Xpa-5 gen 1. I dont remember when i first setup dirac on my system if i had this issue but its driving me crazy thinking that I am not "Equally Leveled" and OCD is a *bleep*. I remember reading a post with a situation similar to my problem long ago back before I even bought my XMC-1 but after searching the forum for a few days in all the threads pertaining XMC-1 or Dirac I cant seem to find anything.
So my system is XMC-1 w/V3 hdmi connected to XPA-2g3>F/R and XPA-5g1>C/LS/RS/LSB/RSB.
I also thought i read somewhere that if i had the full dirac version i could set the levels before calibration on the individual speakers separately but i can not find that post either now.
So some thoughts on what to look for.....

When you set the levels at the beginning of running Dirac, all you're doing is setting a level that is "loud enough to work but not loud enough to overload". (Dirac will complain if the level is excessively low or excessively high.)
Dirac Live FULL does allow you to set each speaker individually. However IT IS NOT IMPORTANT TO MATCH THE LEVELS BETWEEN THE SPEAKERS.
The reason the full version allows you to adjust them individually is that, if you have very different speakers, they may be VERY different. And, if so, and you don't have individual controls, you may not be able to find a "happy setting" for the one control where none of your speakers either overloads or is too quiet to work.

Please help. If you're using Dirac, do you have to use a RCA splitter to run dual subs? I added a second sub, ran Dirac and after setup I don't seem to be getting any audio from the second sub. I have the second sub plugged into the open RCA.

Do you have subs properly set in the XMC-1 menu?

Do you have subs properly set in the XMC-1 menu? I went and set up the subs as dual mono on Preset 1, switched back to Dirac and noticed that modification option also existed for the Dirac setting. Got it working and I don't know how I survived for so long without dual subs. I ran Dirac with only one sub operating, so I might go back and rerun to compare.
