From what I have heard and can see the XPA-7 (200 wpc x 7) uses fundamentally the same modules as the XPA-5 (200 wpc x 5), so I wouldn't anticipate it sounding any different. The XPA-5 in my system doesn't sound any different to the XPA-3 or the XPA-2 that preceded it. As a result I wouldn't expect any noticeable difference in the excellent imaging and sound quality that the XPA-5 displays. The advantage of the XPA-7, aside from the obvious additional 2 channels, is the substantially upgraded power supply which allows for an increase in performance (ie; grunt, slam, impact, punch etc) whenever all 7 channels aren't driven.
Cheers Gary

Any feedback for the XPA-7 ? When was it available for consumer purchase? I'd like to purchase this unit but have only found slight activity here @ the lounge... Details please from Emotiva consumers. I've read the the specifications. It began shipping in late September / Early October of 2014. I have seen several members mentioning they had received one, but few actual reviews. I'm looking forward to picking one up this spring ... on second thought I'm looking forward to purchasing one ... not actually picking it up.

Now I understand why there's only two reviews but one would still think there should be a few more... Thank you for the replies! Just remember you save $160 on one through tomorrow (the 12th).

with 7x200 for power, I'd suspect you need a 20 amp outlet. Is that so? Otherwise, a normal outlet won't be able to supply the amp at redline. A/B amps run maybe 50% efficient so you can see where this is heading.
