Does anyone know when/if we will see the new UPA amplifiers (specifically the replacement of UPA-500 and UPA-700)?
Any information is appreciated as I have a friend looking to purchase in the next few weeks.

I believe that the Ultra lineup is no longer going to be produced. I remember reading somewhere on this forum that they are trying to sell the last of the UMC-200 and UPA-200 and then they will all be gone.

I think it would be sad to not have an entry level series to replace the UPA amplifiers...
Dan please pitch in...

Maybe they consider the XPA-100, 200, ETC their entry level...

Xpa-100 is not a 2 channel amp...but, Maybe they will come out with xpa-700...xpa-500....xpa-300 etc. Just a thought.

If they revise the UPA line up, I wouldn't be unhappy. Maybe a mini-x line up.

Likely to be something from their "Fusion" line up to replace the "UPA" line up. Remember that the XPA-x00 series used to be their entry level products (and damn good if I say so myself) and carried the "UPA" branding.

The discontinuance of the UPA-500 has created a bit chaos for LXmini builders, given the price point of it and how well regarded it was by Sigfreid Linkwitz. www.linkwitzlab.com/LXmini/Amplifiers.htmBut business is business and life moves on. Perhaps a Chinese manufacturer will step in and fill the void.

I can never be certain that the product I buy today can be purchased 6 months down the road. This is a problem for those people who don't buy everything in one shot, but add to the system over time. I've lost track of the amps, speakers, and subs that they've introduced, sold, and discontinued, all in the few years that I've been frequenting this forum. Not good...

If they revised the UPA line to a set of INTEGRATED amplifiers with preamp built in, they'd sell like hotcakes!

Nope - I'm thinking more of a media-streamer / integrated!

I'll be watching for a used or B-stock UPA-500 to pair with my UMC-200. I don't need it now, but would like to have an amp waiting in the wings for when I replace the UMC-200 in my theater and move it to the living room. Somehow I'm pretty sure I've got another Emotiva processor in my future. One with Atmos.
Updated 1/28, snagged a b-stock at the clearance sale. Be here Monday. Woot!

Emotiva is well known for affordable multi-channel poweramps, so to have the XPA-5 as the cheapest at 999$ would not make sence I like the idea of a 3RU XPA-500 with at least 600VA transformer though

Or better yet an all digital design.

It will amazing. If the previous U series is built up upon, and lessons learned from this successful line. You can bet your bottom JFET, it is going to be special. I think allot of people will love them. The Emotiva Revolution continues.

I would be seriously surprised if Emotiva has pulled the plug on the UPA series. Based on history and their value philosophy, I just cannot see Emotiva abandoning their entry level. I'm pretty sure we'd get a podcast from Big Dan confirming the plug-pull and explaining why they did it.
Personally, I wouldn't stress about it. Maybe Emotiva is preparing a "Gen 2" UPA series, just like they did with the X series over the last year.

At the time wouldn't have considered (or been able to afford) one of the bigger amps. Besides, I need some series of amps to try to coax my friends into buying - who don't quite "get" the value of a power amp.
