Hi,
I'm about to connect the Fusion 8100 up to a new Projector I've ordered. What long cables have people had success with here? Thinking about going with a 22 awg cable from Monoprice to be safe but there Redmere cables also look interesting.
The run will be about 25 - 30'

I use the Redmere HDMI cables in my set up and they work great. They are directional so you have to pay attention to what side you hook up to the source sending the signal but once they are hooked up they perform flawlessly.

Actually the arrow direction has more to due with the grounding than the signal itself, or so I am told.

I have some hdmi handshake issues with my 8100, and the cables themselves don't really matter... It's more of a compatibility with the display device that is the issue. I have a recent sony 55" and the 8100 just will not pass 1080p to it.
Ive used monster, rocketfish, monoprice, tributaries, dynex, sony, who'd and vanco cables with the same results. Tried a few active cables as well (incl 2 Redmere cables) and the picture would still cut in and out and I would get an occasional hdcp error from my sources (cisco STB, appletv, Sony bd, PS3, ps4, motorola STB, wiiu).
that being said, I have not had a problem running 720p to my panasonic plasma through the 8100 at all (other than it killing my contrast... My blacks are grey when the video is passed through the 8100).
Ive read that that other users have similar issues... And it sounds like it all comes down to whether the display device is "compatible" with the sr8100.

My FIL has had handshake issues with his Sony tv via HDMI as well. I am leaning more towards the Sony being a detractor than the Fusion. His Panasonic 60 plasma had no issues at all passing signal and never had any issues with fading of black areas. Also, it could be your cable or satellite provider....maybe even an Apple product or streamer. I had audio and video drop out issues with my Sherbourn SR-120. I contacted Emotiva support and they gave me several ideas to check where the problems were stemming from. Recently I changed to the newest X1 platform through Comcast and all of my issues are gone. It literally had nothing to do with the receiver, it was the cable box. I hope you get things squared away. Not sure if it is worthy of finger pointing at the Fusion when it could be so many other contributing factors. I hope you get things squared away though.

Yes, 99% of HDMI problems are related to implementations of the HDMI protocols. Emotiva is adamant about their adherence to the letter of the HDMI standards, where some other companies obviously are not.
And yes. Cables with arrows, ground their shielding to only one end of the cable. Grounding should be done at one central device, such as the preamp, to provide a single, central grounding point for the signal.
Now, if you believe that digital cables can influence the quality of the encoded signals. Then the best sounding HDMI cable I've found are the Pangea's. Though at the length you are talking about, with the cost, I believe that you will be pleased with the 22 awg Monoprice.

In term of sound/image quality, which HDMI cable to use shouldn't be an issue as long as the cable does not have termination issue (shorting). Remember, with HDMI standard, signals are sent in digital data format (binary). There's also checksum from the equipment sending and receiving end to make sure of data integrity during transmission via cable to avoid/fix data corruption. So.. really.. Which HDMI cable to use shouldn't be an issue. Cable length on the other hand, can be an issue due to signal degradation.

I ended up going with 2 Redmere' at 35' passed through an HDMI splitter (one to the Projector and one to the TV) so far no issues. I was more worried about length and signal degradation as it has been reported as an issue with this receiver in the past. Thanks for all the input!
