Hey guys I got my new Emotiva XPA-5 and Emotiva XPA-2 just before xmas, and i just got my new processor,a Marantz 7702, and this processor can do Dolby Atmos, so i was thinking about getting 2 of the new XPA-200 to power my 4 ceiling atmos speakers, but i would rather have 1 unit with 4 channels if at all possible.
I am sure a lot of other people who run 5.1 or 7.1 systems who want to upgrade to Atmos or later Auro3D/DTS:X are gonna need amplification for their setups too,so does Emotiva have any plans of making a 4 channel amp in the XPA line?
I am really happy with my 2 emo amps, and would love to get my hands on a 4 chan amp also :-D
Please consider this for future release
A happy Danish customer

Yes, this is called the XPA-5. Just use 4 channels from an XPA-5. That will do a great job.

I recall asking that about 6 months ago........yep, there it is; I do see an opportunity (albeit not a large volume one) for Emotiva in 4 channel power amplifiers to match the current 5 and 7 channel offerings. Cheers Gary

Sorry to say, but asking here will not get you the answer you are looking for. In reality, NONE of "us" can answer your question. Only a select few that work for Emotiva could know that. But, since none of us can say for sure you are likely to get a bunch of fun banter and alternate solutions. Here is one....try to get your hands on a UPA-500 or UPA-5. I can't see those "Atmos" speakers needing the power of an XPA series amp, but if you get a UPA of the 5 channel variety only driving 4 channels you should have more than enough juice

No need for that kind of attitude tsunamijhoe. It wasn't condescending at all although not entirely helpful either. It's always smarter to assume someone isn't being an ass when they post something, especially when it's really hard to tell with text what their motives actually were. So relax and don't get so offended so quickly.

I wonder if someone will ever use 4 XPR-1 amps for the Atmos speakers? I would scratch my head if they did.

There was a guy who posted here a few years ago showing off his system prior to the XPR series being available, and he had something like 10 XPA-1's going. He had those big Maggies, the $20,000+ ones.

Where i am from, no one uses Emotiva,as it is a hassle to import them,so finding a used one is out of the question. Think i am better off using 2x XPA-200 then. I was thinking of getting the Monitor Audio Radius 90 or Apex 10 speakers for atmos NodsceneI am a member of SO many boards, and truth be told, there are a lot more aholes than helpful people out there so asuming people are nice is a numbers game, and since english is NOT my native tongue, i apologize should canuck NOT have meant it in a condescending manner. I just don't get why people comment in threads if thy have no answer or useful information in any way?

Honestly two mini-x units or fusion flex units will be plenty for ceiling sound use. But it looks like you want to go with a bit more power, so XPA-200 will also work!

Hmm, well the price differnece is so small imo, that getting the xpa-200 will be a better deal,as they are more useful should i chose to sell them later on,or use them in another capacity. Shipping cost will be the same for both units,so i better get power houses to begin with :-)

Except for the double power cord, two XPA-200s is a great idea. Stacked on top of each other would give you the same form factor of a five channel or a theoretical four channel amp.

You are obviously entitled to make assumptions as you please. And while you may be correct in regards to the numbers game, do you really want to have a default position where everyone are *bleep*? Not sure I could deal with life if I chose that route. That being said I don't really like people and do think most are either idiots or *bleep* but I still give people the benefit of the doubt And yes, I wonder why people make posts when they are either not adding anything to the conversation and/or not even on topic but I usually just ignore those. I am a member of SO many boards, and truth be told, there are a lot more aholes than helpful people out there so asuming people are nice is a numbers game, and since english is NOT my native tongue, i apologize should canuck NOT have meant it in a condescending manner. Seems XPA-200's are my only choise,as neither fusion nor mini has XLR inputs..Now i just need to figure out which speakers will suit my B&W best

XPA-5 is too powerful for the speakers i am looking at i would think, also it is so cumbersome and heavy, not easy to move around
