I'm in the process of designing and building a home theater in my basement. Slow process and I've essentially taken a "sabbatical" while the 3D audio and 4K video/HDMI specs are sorted out. However, I've come across some cheap cable that seems like it should have a use in a home theater system. Looks like Ethernet cable to me, but I haven't found any CAT designation for it. West Penn Wire #435. Specs are attached. It appears to be four "CAT" type wires in a bundle, with each pair individually insulated. And slightly heavier gauge at 22 AWG. I was planning to use a couple runs of CAT-6 with HDMI extenders for my long distance runs and for some future proofing. Would this work? I know some of you work in the Communications field and hope you might be familiar with this wire and it's suitability for HDMI use. Or are there other uses for it? Enough bandwidth for HDMI 2.0? Lots of questions. I appreciate your advice! Chuck Attachments:West Penn Wire 435.pdf (30.56 KB)
