I would be interested on some input with an inexpensive BDP that supports lossless formats. I want to leave the oppo upstairs just for living room music entertainment. I don't need all the Oppo functions for the movie room.

i had the sony 5100 89$ player (plays SACD DSD) and hated it as my everyday use player ALWAYS froze.
I have since bought a 3100 (not sure if it plays lossless codecs) to use upstairs for the kids movies and it has been very relaible...paid 49$ on BF...
oppo 103 is for the HT

I never have seen the OPPO brand at Best Buy. Usually it is sold factory direct

ATTENTION
please post all known issues with your Oppo. As a dealer now, I will call and request firm answers from them. Talking to my colleagues and installers, it would seem the issues are rampant.

I have an oppo 103d. It freezes up a lot. Sometime on start up it will start to play a cd then freezes and I have to turn it off and back on. It seems to be getting worse never noticed it at first and just seems to do it atleast once every time I use it. I bought it in March this year.
Also not sure but I get a pop or thump when playing music. Usually when I use the skip song feature or stop and then play

Very disheartening to hear. Mine has had no real issues. A couple of times I've pressed remote buttons too quickly and mine froze, processing just got stuck. Restart and all was fine. This has happened two or three time since I purchased my 103 about 1 1/2 years ago.
After realizing that I need to be a little more patient I haven't had any problems until my purchase of an XMC-1. That freezing problem is caused by the XMC-1 as described in the minor problem thread. I'll be calling Emo in the morning about that.

I'm with boom my 2 yr old 105 has been very relaible this far with only streaming from my synology having the odd thing happening,

My wife never complains about the Oppo glitching. This means that my Oppo 103 doesn't glitch.
I even usd it as a target for J River recently.

I use mine with jriver as a renderer too and don't recall any lockups with that...maybe it's just the synology that's glitching
