The wife has let me add speakers to our main living space in my new home. I'm trying to have the best sound possible knowing t won't be audiophile. But at least I'll have music during the days again
Would emo in ceilings or i walls be better?
They would be driven with AirPlay in denon x4100 second zone

What are your walls made of? What are your ceilings made from? Are either chambered by floor or wall joists?

Just a comment. I heard an ALL in wall system including rears, center and front HT system with ALL current Thiel offering. Speaker cost was over 10K. It sounded very good as it should have. I have owned several Theil brand floor models and though I like their sound I do not think their floor models are SOTA anymore (CS 3.7 still sounds pretty good) and think others offer more bang for the buck. It is hard to audition in wall speakers in that wall construction can vary the sound so much. Sellect a speaker brand you like the sound of and stick with that brand all around

In the walls for 2 channel too. In ceiling are great for ambient surround applications.
