I bought a 40% off card just for this. Any new news would be great. LoL,I did just the opposite.I just sold my card.I just figured Emotiva would come out and say no longer accepting cards or not valid on purchase of the XMR-1 before they release that unit.I really don't see them giving out a $2000.00 plus discount on those units.

I pray this is not true!!!! I believe they said they would honor the discount card for any Pre/Pro they manufacture now or in the future until there are no more of them !!

The wording on the card is clear. "This card entitles the bearer to a 40% discount on a Generation 3 or higher (single unit) Emotiva A/V processor". However, the fine print at the card's bottom states: "The discount may not be used in conjunction with any other discount or promotion."

They did say that,BUT they also ended E-Club and Upgrade For Life. All with fair warning and these were not open ended like a physical property such as the card. E-Club was a yearly membership that they have been generous with in its extension, no one has lost anything and no promises were broken. Upgrade for life was a business decision that left no one without warning of its coming demise. Only reason I purchased an XMC-1 !!!! And boy I'm glad I did!! Just my two cents!, disclaimer; I in no way work for or profit monetarily from these statements!,,,, ,,,,,,pitiful dang shame I don't!!!!,,,,,what's up with that!!

I will say that the reality is it didn't really matter if they accepted the card or not for the XMR-1.I would have never been able to shell out that much cheddar anyway as I live in a Macaroni and Cheese Zip code.
My XMR-1 consists of a Sherbourn PT-7020C4 connected to a Emotiva DC-1.

Er.. ouch... from that link to Big Dan's statement:
"Also, our HDMI 2.0 card will be out our BEFORE any compliant source component become available, so please don't worry about this either. We'll be making it available at our cost for existing XMC-1 owners. You're not going to even see a HDCP 2.2 4K source or BD player until well into 2016."
My Nvidia Shield / Netflix 4k unit that I cannot pass through the XMC begs to differ.

Thanks for for digging up Big Dans quotes!! Nice bit of work my friend!!, Not at all Nick ; your precis was fine ; the catalyst for finding the quote was to reassure all concerned [ including myself ] that umc200 etc owners are still fine with the now defunct upgrade for life Imagine getting a loyalty discount ever from the opposition

The wording on the card is clear. "This card entitles the bearer to a 40% discount on a Generation 3 or higher (single unit) Emotiva A/V processor". However, the fine print at the card's bottom states: "The discount may not be used in conjunction with any other discount or promotion." Yep. And and it's those "Generation 3" words that could come into issue. The XMC-1 is decorated like a Gen 2 product, but technically, it's in it's first generation. And, what's to say that when the XMR-1 does come out, it's not considered a Gen 1 or Gen 2 product. It would be the first generation of it's model. We have all assumed it would have the appearances of the XPR amps. Those are technically Gen 1 amps. So if the XMR-1 follows like the XMC-1 did, the Gen 2 XPR amps will come out first, then the XMR-1 will come out after, as a Gen 2 decorated model. Only if Emotiva went out of order would it be Gen 3. The wording here is tricky and could be interpreted many different ways. Emotiva has proven to me not to be trusted with their wording, because they tend to change their mind on a whim.

If you are waiting to use the card on an XMR-1 and don't have trust, I would suggest sending Big Dan a note.
