It's been on the product page for two days. Cheers Mark I saw that too, but the brightness & contrast was all messed up. Many of the front panel details were obscured, just like what Nick did to the new Emotiva References Loudspeakers. And similarly, importing the XMR-1 image into Photoshop to adjust levels shows a similar message: Nice try. Hair Nick is a real meanie.

The challenge for the XMR-1 will be for an automatic speaker setup that discovers, calibrates, and makes allowance for any speaker location within sensible reason to create a hemisphere of sound necessary for any of the immersive codecs. At least that's what I'll be looking for! Yes ;if it manages true xyz rendering of the object metadata it will be one up on the current 1st gen avr's ; pre pro's[ albeit with some more programming on our part ? ] . Its nice that dts-x does have upmixing possibilities for 5.1 systems “We don’t require elevation speakers,” Kirchner said. “We can render height virtually.” It will be the manufacturer’s decision to support traditional 5.1-speaker layouts, he noted. Although there are advantages to more speakers, “flexibility adds more value to the consumer.” DTS:X supports speaker configurations ranging from 2.1 to 22.2. Here at International CES, DTS is demonstrating 22.2-channel DTS:X. “You identify the locations of the speakers and render to it,” Kirchner said."" www.twice.com/blog/open-circuit/dueling-surround-formats-won-t-sow-confusion/55571dts-x speaker layout courtesy of cineramax; www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYf54IJ-3bk

I just figured out how many amps I need for my ultimate set in 9.1.6. No, 15 is not enough since the LCR are active 3-way designs. Hence, it takes 6 more, for a whopping total of 21! That's 3 x XPA-7. If I get them in EU.
Should have sticked to the stealth 6/8 plan...

And must come with a clock and sleep fuction and alarm too like my ancient sunfire processor did...im joking about the Sunfite but not the feature I would LOVE a sleep function. I tend to fall asleep with the television on in the bedroom. i set the sleep timer on the TV but my poor Fusion 8100 has to stay turned on all night. I've been asking for this lads. So you have a guy on the inside for that feature Fingers crossed.

Not to worry Erwin ; Dan mentioned this recently in connection with the new 1ru umc200 replacement Nice and light for shipping and glove in hand for a few ceiling speakers possibly ..

Sorry if this is answered before, but as the XMC-1 is 7 speakers with connection for 2 subs, do we know if the XMR-1 might have 9.3.6 capability (3 subs) or anything similar? Ie, more than the nominal 16 channels?

Ie, more than the nominal 16 channels? I haven't seen anything like that yet. My theory is that it's going to be 16 assignable channels - but not likely more than that.

Ie, more than the nominal 16 channels? Maybe consider that the xmr-1 will have more output channels than the $$ datasat ls10 pletwals ; [Channels: 15] and dirac and peq [not just peq] Possibly a popular configuration may be a ' traditional' 7 channel bed with 2 or more sub channels and 6 overhead . No need for a 9ch bed as that doesnt conform with any 5.1/7.1 settup we have now and the atmos metadata is backwards compatible with the same 5.1/7.1 true hd tracks we have now Even two trinnov altitude models have a maximum 16 xlr balanced analog outputs ; and one having 8 .. How big is your room ; 6 overheads would do a great panning job in a large one Ide guess..

This definitely of interest to me. I will be buying AV8802 this summer and when ever Emotiva releases this will buy at that point to do a AB. I am interested because of Dirac and need Atmos. So I will watch this thread.
Cheers

So I will watch this thread. Raj Hi Raj ; considering the dearth of atmos titles atm and the still coming dts-x theres another possibility . Buy a xmc1 now [to see if dirac is for you] and get the 25% off upgrade for life on the xmr1 which isnt to be sneezed at on the $5000 xmr1 .If the xmc1 more than lives up to expectations it will help make the decision between the xmr1 and the 8802 that much easier If you already have your overhead speakers ready to go and cant wait though ignore this post

Hello
Thanks for the post. Knowing me, I can say one thing. I am impatient. I want to install over head speakers this summer and if XMR-1 gets delayed, it would make me go nuts and negative. By me moving to 8802 and then get an XMR-1, I can do comparison and if Dirac blows me away can keep it.
This will save me from posting every day, when XMR-1 will come and write negative things about if delayed. This approach helps me keep my sanity. Not sure if it makes sense.
Cheers
