Hey guys,
I figured I'd ask around here first - as this is a rather miniscule problem.
I just received my Fusion 8100 today, and am so far very pleased with it. But there's one thing that I've noted with it, and I'm trying to see what steps I should take to troubleshoot - beyond what I've already done.
The Problem: When the Fusion is handling audio over HDMI from my computer, there is a persistent popping sound coming from all of the speakers. It eventually will phase out and stop if there continues to be no other audio from the source - and it will also stop when audio is playing through the speakers (i.e. music or videos). The computer is a new Asus and has less than 72 hours of running time on it.
Things I've tried: I first tried to disconnect, and reconnect the HDMI cable from both ends to see if it was an issue of loose connection. That didn't yield any improvement. I also tried a different HDMI cable on a totally different input - no luck. I tried the same HDMI cable on a different input with no luck either.
Again, this isn't a big deal...since the issue eventually corrects itself and it doesn't actually start until sound plays then stops. It's almost like the unit is checking to see if there's any audio playback, and it eventually stops trying. I'd think that'd be the case - but it doesn't do that on any other source (Blu-Ray player, Xbox) only the computer.
Are there settings I should check on my computer or the Fusion? Could this be a wire issue? If the later, why would it do it with one source but not the other, if the HDMI cables are all the same?
Thanks guys!
