That's dissapointing.
Wonder what the backstory is with them not getting a response -- but clearly there is the usual "high end must be expensive" nonsense.
Would have been nice to see an Emotiva amp easily beat some of the other amps that cost many times more.

Appears Emotiva has not fully sold the "rethink" part of their slogan.
But they are doing a comparison of Dirac Live vs. Audyssey XT32 so that should be interesting for the XMC-1.

Probably not intentional, but certainly disappointing!!

Ed could have told them that it is better to pick up the phone and call them rather than e-mail if they are looking for an immediate response.

Unless it's really a double blind test - the amp with the most expensive looking faceplate is going to win anyway.
:-)
But I'm not cynical.
About the backstory - I just meant - whether the no response to the email was intentional or accidental. I agree - a phone call probably would have been much better.
If Emotiva wasn't a direct company and had all of the retail overhead - their prices would likely fall into their "high end" price point.

I vote for hooking all the amps to an Audio Precision rig and see who comes out as the winner. Yes yes. I know. Specs aren't everything. But they're quite fun.

They called?? At Emo prices they should have purchased one, and return it at the 30 day period if they where so willing!
Yuk, I just read a few post, I think Emotiva is better off not being part of that list. What's the point of having a 7 year old amp in a shoot out?

I guess that would depend on whether you think "high-end" means "expensive" or "good sounding"... I mean this pretty much says it all:

Keith, I think most here know High End doesn't need to be expensive

Looks as if Emotiva has contacted them, hopefully they can work something out and have one of their amps in contention, way to go

It will be interesting to see what happens if they do get an Emotiva amp in the mix. I hope they do - being that Emotiva's price point is that much lower than the rest.
Fun.

Maybe one of the Emotiva staff can tell us what they will be sending if it does indeed happen

Maybe one of the Emotiva staff can tell us what they will be sending if it does indeed happen Powerwise an XPA 2, although for those prices you could get XPR 1s or 2s!

I'm thinking XPR-2 or the SA-250, but most likely the XPR-2
