You know I've heard a few members talk about their size and all, and I've seen all sorts of photos but until your pics I get the felling they’re allot bigger than what I've believe them to be! They're not slinky runway models they're appear to Enjoy and Happy listening Dan They have the Seas Pendragon which is 40% smaller. I'm half tempted to order a pair since they're on sale for $1980 www.tektondesign.com/seas-pendragon.htmlI have Seas in my 3rd ( maybe 4th ) hand speakers bought from a member. Seas components were suggested by Garbulky a while back. I felt like Sgt. Schultz when I first got here. Couldn't be happier today after asking...Thank you sir.. www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/seas-woofers-6-7/seas-excel-w16nx-001-e0049-04-6-magnesium-cone-woofer-4-ohm/ Now I'm looking at the Lore-S with bubinga finish for a smaller room and waiting on the pod cast to see if any glass is on its way.. Life is good.

Even at low listening levels these speakers have a great open and full detailed sound, so clear.

Enjoy and let me know your thoughts once you get a few hours to set them up and do some serious listening.

Ya $1500.00 new, it was a steal he was asking $2000.00 but i talk him down to 1500.00 he needed money to put towards another car the only settings I changed in the XMC-1 is the crossover I dropped it down to 40. I hate to say it cause I really like my ERT 8.3's but the Pendragons walk all over them. I don't think ill waste any time setting them up till Friday with the new updates installed with the basic Dirac and get used to the sound then try the full version so I can really hear the difference Mitch

I am really looking forward to the full version on Friday also. I will be setting them up again then. I also have to add that these speakers finally let me realize just how good the XPR-5, XMC-1 and XPS-1 sound. Was spinning some vinyl the other night and it was absolutely fantastic. Are you going to get the matching center?

This set-up with the Pendragons and the Emotive gear continues to impress me. The clarity at low volumes is absolutely outstanding, as well as at higher volume levels, but I don't need to turn it up to here fantastic detail and separation. Such a wonderful clear and "full" sound. The voices sound so realistic, vocal inflection is spot on. I am sure many of the combinations people have here are excellent but I can't say enough about how thrilled I am about my system right now.

My dragons were delivered today. I bought these second hand and they took a very long week to get here. When I walked in the front door the wife was there to greet me and followed me all the way out to the shed to get a pair of pliers (to loosen the spade lugs on the Thiels)and back to the media room and she was saying something. Anyways I opened the boxes and I have to say that the foam they use for packaging although adequate is very messy and leaves foam stuck to all the tweeters, drivers and is a real mess to clean up. The fit and finish is fair, not that it's bad but to give you an example the hardware used that the carpet spikes screw into is not as neatly done as other methods I have seen. It looks like they drill a hole in the bottom of the speaker and have a metal socket with a flange on it and it threads right into the MDF slightly bulging the MDF, then the carpet spikes screw into that. Anyway, I hooked these up to the XPA-3 and started my listening. Anytime, I listen to a different pair of speakers or a different system, I try to be very slow to say what is good or bad or what I like or don't like as these thoughts may change as you begin to grow with the system. Although some things are just a fact to anyone's ears, so that is what I will write about now. Explosive, Exciting, and BIG are what I would use to describe the difference between the Thiel 2.2 I was listening to and the Tekton Pendragons SE. The highs are very clean and detailed and seem to never sound strained in any music at any level, although they may be a tad polite. The excitement I was talking about I believe comes from the midrange down to 45HZ or so. When I ran the ARC room correction the mains played down to about 28HZ and the center was usable down to 45HZ. The center's sealed and the mains are ported. The tone and timbre are very well matched between the center/mains. I have to keep this short for now as I am getting ready for vacation for the next few days whoohoo. Can't wait to get back to play with them. Here are some pics. Attachments:

Nice. I especially like your stand for the center. Looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts on these. Enjoy your vacation.

Any Updates ? I am on the fence about new speakers. My B&W'804s are very good, but sometimes bright. I am sure some room updates will help, but new speakers ALWAYS help.

You are the first reviewer I have ever heard say their B&W 800's are bright. I have a hard time believing it is the speaker and not some other "issue" with your system, ie. room, pre, amp, etc. I could be wrong though, of course.
