I had a pair of Studio 100 V.3 for about 8 years. Thought I would have them forever. All I ever had were PSB and Paradigm. I like the sound. We bought a house and I was relegated to a small office. I was bummed. I was thinking the 100's were too large for the room (11X12X9). Sold the 100's and the matching center and purchased the Airmotiv 6's. Best move ever. The room is treated and I just added a Rythmyk sub. The sound is great. I like the sound of the 6's by themselves, but just thought something was missing. A couple of weeks ago, I wandered into a local dealer where I purchased the Paradigms to see/hear what was new. I listened to some Studio 20's. They're on my short list if I go back to passive speakers. I was disappointed. In that room I wasn't impressed. Maybe at home and listening to them for a while it would be different. I also listed to some Golden Ear bookshelves and the new Paradigm Prestige bookshelves. Both sounded better to me than the 20's. Still not as good as the Airmotivs. Just my thoughts.

Cool thanks for sharing. Are you using the Airmotivs near field? I have a Rhythmic ds12 in another system, I've been thinking about setting it up with my Airmotiv 4s in a near field set up. Now I might just have to do it. I bet that combo will rock. I really like the Studio 20s but I think the whole line took a hit when they downsized the enclosures at v5 (thats just me though). As good as the Paradigms are, I just really like the mids on the Airmotivs. The treble is good too. Man, I might just have to set up a little comparo when I have some time. The last room I had the Studio 20s set up in had really bad acoustics so Im sure thats effecting how I remember them.

I think my speakers are 6' away. The F12 is in the middle. The 20's sounded tinny. They were demos. The golden ears were in the same room and sounded good. Have you looked at Ascend Acoustics Sierra 2's?
