I like to eat salted almonds while enjoying a Manhatten and listening to Jazz. I just replayed my 200g Kind of Blue in my dead quiet cave using my Rega RP 6/Exact to XPS-1, phono section of the XSP-1, to my newly acquired XMC-1. Add a set of XPR-1s and Paradigm Studio 100s,,,,,,,I call that HEAVEN.

I like the Paradigm Studio 100 speakers. Very nice setup!
A Disqus user was bashing Emotiva at the link I posted above, but he didn't make a very persuasive argument. Audiophile Nirvana is run by engineers with a low tolerance for nonsense.

Actually, that pretty much describes this company. I'm not sure I understand what you're implying. Both the preamp and the little Emotiva DAC I tested performed admirably. Noise, distortion, jitter, etc. were all well below the threshold of human hearing. You could easily use this equipment in the studio for mixing and mastering.

Company run by no nonsense engineers.

lol I totally misunderstood what you were saying. Thanks for clarifying. There seems to be a disconnect between engineers and audiophiles. That's why we created Audiophile Nirvana. It was tiresome answering the same questions over and over again, only to be told that on xyz forum user 1234 said this, and he said you're wrong. So, we thought a little website based in science might be helpful. Just point people to the facts, and hope they understand. We have a great video on the homepage that's well worth watching. It explains much.

This post sounds more like an advertisement for a new forum on this forum, with the hook being a glowing review of the XSP-1 to attract traffic from here to there. I suppose flattery gets you everywhere.

This post sounds more like an advertisement for a new forum on this forum, with the hook being a glowing review of the XSP-1 to attract traffic from here to there. I suppose flattery gets you everywhere. The review on Audiophile Nirvana was earned, not given as a form of flattery. As a group of grumpy old engineers we have no problem pointing the finger at snake-oil vendors, and poorly designed and manufactured products. In the upcoming weeks we're publishing an article about interconnect cable and speaker wire, and the lies and misinformation being used to push it in the audiophile community. The original intent of Audiophile Nirvana was to provide "How to" articles based on acoustics and our experience in the studio. Unfortunately, this doesn't help consumers find the right products to meet their needs. So, we decided to also recommend certain products that we felt provided the best solution at prices the average person could afford. In many cases audio consumers already have good equipment, but don't understand how to maximize its potential in a home environment. It's unlikely that they'll install acoustic panels, but they could easily rearrange things to improve the quality of sound being reproduced by their existing system. The other information provided at Audiophile Nirvana is designed to help people get the most out of their system.

Nice review, wish he would have opined on the "home theater pass-thru" it's an excellent feature and was one of the reasons I purchased the XSP-1. It really integrates well into my HT setup.
