I give up for now on the hum, it's very, very low, my question is, am I the only one that owns an xpr7? I love the amp despite the tiny hum, anybody?

I dont have an Emotiva amp - a jensen isolation transformer worked for me. With 7 channels it will be a bit pricey.

I have an XPA-7 and have no hum. I have my XPA-7 directly into the wall outlet.

I have an XPA-7 that had a problem with transformer hum. Not only could I sometimes here it through my speakers, but I could also sometimes hear the mechanical hum coming directly from the very large toroidal transformer inside the amplifier. After some research, I decided that it might be a symptom of a DC offset on the household AC supply. I purchased and installed an Emotiva CMX-2 between the wall outlet and the amp and the hum disappeared. Unfortunately, your CMX-6 does not remove DC offset from the AC supply.

Tried straight to wall, still humming, what's the difference between the CMX6 and the CMX2? Besides 6 and 2 plugs?

Cmx-2 has a dc-offset filter which eliminate dc home produced voltage on our ac current. Any toroïdal transformer seems sensitive to this. I Would suggest plugging in your cmx-6 to the cmx-2 . Mel

You probably have a ground fault hum try hooking all your components in the same outlets w a power strip. i use a power conditioner and that works great. sometimes balanced cables help or if you have your power cords and interconnects crossed, im sure it's not the amp ive had this problem a lot usually when switching between gear now all my stuff is in the power conditioner. plus it will save your equipment if you ever have a power surge
