For some reason the last time I tried to play music from iTunes radio the sound was directed through my laptop's internal speaker. Was not a problem before until now. The USB connection works just fine. I play test sounds from the Control Panel that play through my main speakers. However anything played by ITunes will only play through the internal speakers. I could not find any setting in Windows to fix it. I do not see any settings in iTunes that can fix it either. Anyone got an idea? Anyone ever run into this problem?

Yes. First install the drivers from the emotiva website. You have to run the driver software in a certain mode and the instructions are listed in there how to get the mode to turn on. After you get that situated go to the windows control panel -> sound. Under playback devices make sure that the DC-1 is checked as "default device". You may have to right click on the DC-1 in playback devices to pull up the option.
If that still doesn't work. Go to preferences or options in itunes and select your playback device.

I did have everything installed correctly. I could play anything from iTunes and it would go through my main speakers. It had been working for months. The last time I tried to play anything via iTunes it will only go through the internal speakers. I did go to Windows Control Panel and the DC1 is the default player. You can test it from there and the sound comes from the my main speakers. Back to iTunes and sound can only come through the internal speaker. I could be missing something in the iTunes options or preferences because I did not find anything to set what device for iTunes to play through.

Now you may already know this. The default player in windows has to literally have a check or a "default" sign of some sort on it. Pressing the test button and obtaining sound doesn't necessarily mean it's the default player.
Now you mentioned it's in USB mode. Try this. Restart the computer. The XDA-2 had a problem with USB where the computer would forget it was there when the computer went to sleep mode. Also something you can do is disable your internal speakers. Right click on the onboard soundcard in control panel and disable it.
