I had a DC-1 . I just picked up a Nad M51 Masters series Dac... Sonic BLISS.My search for the perfect DAC is over. Hey uthinker, how do you compare the m51 with the dc-1? And are you using the m51 as preamp? Im curious about your impressions Its been some time since I've had the DC-1 but the ERC-3 has the same Dac and to my ears the M51 sounds cleaner and more relaxed with more detail. I think the Sabre Dac can be a tad bright on the top end. I also have a cambridge 351 CD- transport with Wolfson Dac and I think in hindsight I would choose cambridge BD 752 with the Wolfson over the Oppo Sabre . Having said all that I like the M51 over all the others in comparison tests. I have my Anthem mrx 310, oppo103, ERC-3 going into the M51. I'm in the process of installing two new subwoofers and doing room treatments and then running ARC again, which is an incredbile system and easy to do. Then I'm finished... Until the next ? I hate/ LOVE this hobby. |
