If it's the cal supplied with LE, then it was paired with a target curve since both were fixed - they messed around with cal file and the target until they got a sound they liked. Doesn't it defeat the purpose of Dirac LE altogether?

A house curve may have been part of it but iv also been told directly by Emotiva on more than one occasion that they don't believe a 90° cal is "right" for this situation. Hence why the cal file provided with Full still doesn't look like the 90° cals in this thread.
To me it makes more sense with Full to give us an accurate 90° Cal to start with and let us tweak the target curve in Dirac if we don't like the sound of that. That way your not changing to many variables.

Is what we see on that graph the cal file that came with LE or Full? LE. Waiting on my Full license to arrive. -tm

Yes, the variation is worrying. Hmm, maybe I should re-run using my CS UMIK-1. Will Dirac Full accept the CS-supplied calibration file directly? Yes it will. You just need the file on your computer to import to DIRAC Full. Thanks. Do people who prioritize audio generally prefer the non-house curve? I so wish there were two DIRAC presets so I could easily compare the house curve to the non-house one.

Its just a standard template applied to all speakers. In le, your stuck with emotiva's house curve. But to answer your question, most seem to prefer a house curve, myself included. Tony

HTS is kind of an origin for house curves in home theaters. There are some good threads over there from Wayne.
The purpose is to correct for the room's size, which is different and not at odds with other corrections FM loudness, Dirac, etc.
The cinema industry uses the x-curve to make theaters (very large rooms) sound more like the mixing stage. House curves are similar, except for the smaller rooms we have at home.

Does anyone know if Phantom Power would damage the EMM-1? I'd like to do some freq. comparisons, and it would be much easier if I could use the EMM-1 at the same time as my ECM8000 (right channel / left channel). My mixer can only do all or nothing for the Phantom Power.

The EMM-1 doesn't appear to work with phantom power (per Herb at Cross Spectrum).
