Hey all, I've had my 8100 for 3-4 months now and I am enjoying it for the most part. I've got some general questions and also some technical. First off, does anyone have a copy of the latest firmware they can send me or at least put me in the right direction to find it? I emailed Emotiva but that seemed to be a black hole.
Now on to my next questions. I'm running L/R/C with a subwoofer (3.1) for my home theater system at this time. Are there any settings via input modes and such that I need to have turned ON or OFF to utilize the amp? Is there a way to make sure that the processing and amp power is being optimized for those 3 channels only and not the remainder of 7.1? My confusion comes from Trigger Mode 1 and Trigger Mode 2. I'm not exactly sure what that does or even means. The manual isn't written in a way that explains the purpose for that. Right now Trigger Mode 1 says "Input Set" and Trigger Mode 2 says "All Zone Power". What does that mean exactly and what should I have this set to for my 3.1 setup if it's even related? Thanks!

All you need to do is turn off all the back speakers in the System Setup / Speakers / Size and Crossover, if you haven't done that already. Just set the ones you don't have to "None". Set the front 3 to large or small depending on whether you want their low frequencies rerouted to a subwoofer or not.
I wouldn't think turning speakers off matters much for "amp power", but it matters for processing, i.e. getting some surround content mixed into the far left and far right.
The "triggers" are connections you can use to turn on/off other equipment, usually amplifiers. They're really simple electrical signals sent to a flimsy wire that connects sort of like a headphone jack in the back. For receivers, you typically don't need them unless you add a separate amplifier so you needn't worry about the menu at all. But they're very comon when you're dealing with separates.
Emotiva email has been responsive for me, although they can be quite late.

lordnikon,
what firmware version you have? If interested I have the file for the one ending in .52 (I believe the last one was .54, though). A while back I asked via email to tech support (Damon) for the .54 file, but he said they did not have it yet (?)
By the way, I have a D90 and a D3200, what Nikon you got?

Hi, did not want to start a new thread for this simple question: does the Fusion 8100 accept BFA style banana plugs (I think they are also called z plugs)? Thanks.
