I use my XMC-1 in video on standby mode for its rapid startup time.
The "Rethink High End" message is the dominant display during start-up and this is something I think is a bit crass on the product itself and belongs on websites, in brochures and sales literature.
The Emotiva logo used on the operating system load is well designed, but I never get to see it.
In any case, I think it would look a lot better if the Emotiva logo were used on the rapid start up instead of "Rethink High End" not least because I do t constantly want to rethink about the glitches that are being worked on pending new firmware updates!

I vote for " Merry Christmas "!!!!! I mean,,,,,,REALLY?  ? Somebody actually stairs at the unit when it's powered on??? The Retink flashes for what??? 2 seconds at most??? This is a point of irritation?? Is someone grasping at straws?? Sorry,,,,just don't see it as a nuisance.  |

It doesn't really matter to me, but on mine, Emotiva is what displays the longest during the warm-up period (mine is set not to fast start).
Perhaps change it to "Read the manual first."

I think that slogan is silly to be on a piece of electronics. I wish it was not there.. I concur completely. It seems like a gratuitous self-promotion that belongs in a demo mode, not regular production mode. At very least, I'd vote for the option to disable it. Lacking that, change it to the Emotiva logo. Doesn't bother me at all. If Big Dan wants it displayed for all of 5 seconds after all the bitching he had to endure for 5+ years then all the power to him.

Ray I nothing wrong with a little self promotion. It would be nice to be able to change it to anything you want though. I had a Sony CD player that would allow that and I changed it to "feed me" on start up. But this is way down on my list. |
