Registered to this lounge around a couple years ago but never really got to use it. this is gonna be my first thread and I still consider myself new here. I still don't have an emotiva amp but im really planning to get an XPA2 and XPA5 for Christmas.
I really wanted to visit the Emotiva HQ there at Franklin, TN. I think it's just around 5-6 hour drive from here, Eutaw, Al.
Right now I still have the very old Adcom amp powering my polk rti12 towers. but I need a multi channel amp too to power my center so i'll just get both amps namely the xpa2 and xpa5.
I saw the emotiva's turntables and those look awesome. that's a part of the reason why I wanna pay those guys a visit. I wanna hear those turntables. i'll bring my vinyl collection.
the great news is I got my wife's approval in purchasing the two amps for Christmas. I hope emotiva will be offering a Christmas sale discount during the holidays.
that's it for now.

hello Mr Villock, I see you got the SDA polks. I have the SDA2a but I gave them away 2 months ago. not much room for them since I upgraded to the rti12. most polk fans wouldn't call that an upgrade I know since the SDA series are really that good for music. but my setup is 70% HT and 30% music. I must admit, I really missed the SDA effect with the cable connected to those speakers.
I was thinking of monoblocks for my rti's but I don't have enough power line. I only have one power line running all of my HT gear.

My friend, my sig is all run on two circuits, both 15 amps. Unless you have speakers that have an incredible amount of draw, you have nothing to worry about with MONOBLOCKS,

Welcome. I had a pair of RTi100's, and two of the DSW subs. (I'm actually trying to sell my 440 right now.) That's the extent of my Polk experience. I liked them, but I just preferred the sound of my Klipsch speakers over the Polks, but to each their own. Those subs kept up pretty darn well until I had them replaced with larger ones.

Welcome! And I think you can make it to Franklin from Eutaw in under 4 hours.
Just sayin. 8)

Welcome Geronimo. You have come to the right place.
I have the Rtia9's in a 5-2 system , using a Pa-7 Sherbourn amp ( think XPR-7 ) in a passive bi-amp mode. You haven't mentioned your particular configuration . 5 or 7 speakers ?
Your speakers , like mine are rated 50-500 watts. And they like power.
They are going to come alive with Emo power.
Good luck

Welcome!
On the Emo TT - that's not an Emo TT for sale. It's merely one they are recommending for those who want a TT to pair with their Emo gear. They have talked about making a TT, but so far none is available. That said, their phono stages (built into the XSP-1 or available separately as the XPS-1) are great products!
Also, in the past - I compared an old Adcom GFA amp to my old Rotel amps and an XPA-2. I really liked the XPA-2 a lot better. Much punchier, much better low end power. That said - I like my nCore monoblocks even better for the smoother high end.

I started my surge of upgrades over a year ago, when I was using a Yamaha 1020 and Polks... watch out, 2 amps could morph into 2 amps, and a pre pro and some mono blocks! Dangerous territory here... turn around now while you still can...

Hi Geronimo - Welcome to the Lounge! Yes, new technology does, most often, sound better than older equipment. Whether you choose Emotiva, Mr. Kline's nCores, or another amp entirely, please let us know what you choose and why. Then tell us what you think they sound like in comparison to your former amps. Thanks & again - WELCOME! Boomzilla

ElTwo, nothing wrong with the Adcom amp. im just looking for an amp with the trigger power option so that I can just push one power button from my Yamaha. also been planning to move the adcom to a strictly two channel music room only. audio CDs and vinyl collection will be moved there too. Thanks a lot everybody for the warm welcome. Can't wait for Christmas to come in and hear those emotiva amps at Franklin, TN. it would be great if I can make it there for a 4 hour drive. right now, im still on the entry level side of HT building. my sub needs to be upgraded too. I plan to get two SVS cylinder subs. also planning to run a balanced cable for a PRE and PRO setup. im looking at the Yamaha CX-A5000. stereo setup for music listening will be on this room; sorry for the bike getting in the way. that's the only pic available on my photobucket. needed to stop my cycling obsession too so I could do all of the planned upgrades. to any cyclist out here, allow me to share our site to you. alabama-backroads-cycling.com/

I'm wondering if there's a showroom section in here where every member gets to show off their stuff. Everybody here got awesome equipment lists on their signature profile. I wanna see some audio porn!

Nice bike!! Those double wall rims on it? Also is that a baby grand? thanks garbulky. i don't know if the rims are double walled but those are my go to wheelset on a hilly route. super light and can climb like a goat. 15.5lbs whole bike weight with those wheels. yep it's a baby grand. got it from an old couple who said it's from their grandparents. they told me its been handed from generation to generation until they decided to give it away because nobody in the family knows how to play the piano anymore. the couple sold it to me for $250.00. can you believe it? i gave them a check on the spot. it was funny because i paid more on the moving and tune up than the pianos worth. moving and tune up cost me $1,500.00. owner told me the pianos brand is Chelsea circa 1918 from New York. i was impressed how well it was maintained. no scratches or dents. wood color is still good. now im playing my fave "Fuer Elise" piece again and filling the house with music. been listening to Dianna Krall lately. i wonder how her voice and piano sounds like with emotiva amps especially the monoblocks. what a dream that must be!
