Am I missing something here? This movie gets rave reviews but I think it was pretty mediocre. The plot is full of holes and inconsistencies and Ben Affleck looks bored most of the time...

Ben A. has never impressed me as a dramatic actor. I like him better in comedy. I've not seen this movie, and based on your summary, probably won't. Thanks for the post.

I actually liked Gone Girl. The same director/writer or something that did The girl with the dragon tattoo. It was a bit confusing and so many twists but overall I thought it was good.

I enjoyed this movie, though I do most as I believe it's just a movie so never really think to much into it haha, movies for me are a get away from the real dramatic life of my own  |

Someone was abducted or something but the cops dismissed the crime because they thought it was too similar to the movie plot.
