I currently have a USP-1 pre driving a UPA-2. For speakers I have Studio-20s. I am very happy with the sound quality. For sources I have: * Marantz TT * ERC-1 CDP * server or SONOS (future)
I don't use the TT much so I might ditch it. My vinyl collection is small anyway.
I envision myself going with just a SONOS Connect (for streaming) and the CD. Thus I'll just need digital inputs. Can I use the DC-1 as a DAC/Pre to drive my UPA-2s?
Would it be better to get the XDA-2?
Confused ... Rob

That may be a good idea! Anyway as for the DC-1. I feel that it probably has more deetail than the USP-1 may be able to push ot though I never connected it to the preamp. So it actually may sound quite good with it. Uncertain though. However the USP-1 does have better dynamics than the DC-1. But the DC-1 sounds better direct to amp than the XDA-2 does direct to the amp.

I'm for simple, I would go with just the DC-1. If you need a TT input, you can get the XPS-1 or the SP-1. Unless you need bass management... then you need the USP-1. (Or just let your speakers naturally roll off and use the sub's low pass filter.
