left my dc-1 in standby mode for over a week and when I picked it up tonight I noticed it was really warm in the lower back right- it seemed to run okay though. Is this something to be concerned about?

It's normal, I turn mine off because of that (the power use, not the heat), but many leave them on or in standby all the time.

No this is normal. The DC-1 runs warm in standby. It also sounds better after some warm up.

Mine gets warm also in the area of the heat sinks. I shut mine down via a triggered Panamax power center.
