It seemed with the discussion that's starting on this App, a separate thread was warranted. As far as we know this is not the Emotiva App, but an interested User / Developer (Richard Lesniak). Edit: We now know this IS the official app. In any case this will give us a place to discuss this app specifically. It makes sense to me to keep iOS and Android together because we should generally run into the same issues, but I'm only familiar with iOS, so I hope when Android questions come in there will be some who are using it (as other iOS users would comment as well). To start things off, here are my first two posts regarding this App from the other thread.
iPhone: Just downloaded and installed the Lesniak iPhone App. I think it has a nice layout and gives access to many useful commands. What is most welcome, and what I've been missing on my Harmony Ultimate Home, is the current status via the reproduction of the OLED display. This is a critical function of a useful remote, the other day I was working upstairs and wanted to test remote codes, I couldn't see the display and actually took a small wireless camera and taped it to a chair so I could watch messages and changes on the display. He further reinforces this by showing the status of features like Loudness (On or Off), also the current trim levels and mode state. I think it's very useful to know what your current settings are. The Zone 2 page is simple but useful.
I'd like to be able able to select all of my inputs discretely, and customize the pages a bit, but this is a very good first effort and more than I expected. The remote OLED display alone make it worthwhile to me. Good job Richard Lesniak. Edit: and Emotiva!
iPad: Wow, just downloaded the iPad version, it's even better! It queries your setup and identifies inputs as you have named them: Hopper, Oppo, Apple TV, etc. Buttons in the center area allow you to control various settings in the left side panel, again current settings are displayed. Of course the OLED display is even bigger! Very clean look and nice to have full iPad support with landscape on a first effort, another good job Richard!
Edit: Oh, and they're both free! Edit: I said 'iPad Version', it appears this is a single Universal version for iOS devices.

You've summed up my thoughts on this App quite well Bruce. I too really like the display of the OLED.

I would like to chime in and say this is the official app from Emotiva. We worked with Rick to design and implement the app.

Well then, it should get some publicity. BTW, searching Emotiva in the app store brings up nothing. You have to ask for XMC-1.
Excellent remote. Now if I can just get 3.1.

The iOS app is broke for me. I couldn't select the XMC-1 from the scroller. I already mentioned it in the other thread. My home automation system works. Chuck's app works. My Android app works. Dirac works. I doubt I'll even use it, but wanted to put it out there.

I just installed it on my Samsung Alpha smartphone and it work well but on my Google Nexus 7 tablet it doesn't work. Also note that the graphics presentation is strongly different between both display (phone and tablet)

The versions on both my iphone and ipad do not seem to work. When I open them, I see a blank page with "Selected XMC-1" appearing on it, but there are no XMC-1s in the provided spaces to select, even when my XMC-1 is turned on on. By the way, my XMC -1 is connected to my router with an ethernet cable, and my iphone and wifi are on the same network. Hitting refresh does nothing for me. I see an image like the first one in AudioHTIT's last post, except that my XMC-1 is not selected.
I wish someone can tell me what I am not doing right... Are there any pairing instructions somewhere? I do remember that certain remotes need to be paired with their corresponding component.

I do remember that certain remotes need to be paired with their corresponding component. If you look at the screen shots I posted, the first shot in each post is the opening screen. Do you see "XMC-1" inside the silver box like my pics show? This means the remote found your XMC-1. If the silver box is empty then you probably have a network communication problem. Finding your XMC-1 on the network is the 'pairing', nothing you have to do except make sure your XMC-1's network connection is good and that your iPhone / iPad / etc. is on the same network. Edit: Once you get your network issues sorted out, press the 'Refresh' button to have the App look again for an XMC-1 on the network.

It might be worth mentioning that in the first screenshot the word "XMC-1" is shown if your XMC-1's name is "XMC-1" which is the default. If you changed the name (in the menu settings) then the changed name will appear on the screen.

I installed the app without issues, and it seems to work well for me on my iPad (I haven't tried any other devices). A couple of features that I find myself using frequently that are not easily adjusted (i.e. they have to be accessed via the menu controls) are the tone controls (bass and treble) and the midnight mode. If these could be added to the trims screen, that would be really helpful, and greatly appreciated. Thanks for the app!
