garbulky - you and boom should have a chance to listen to one of these very soon: They said they have started shipping (or will start shipping on Monday.) I'm not sure where mine is in the queue. I am definitely interested to hear what you guys think. It's supposed to be very close to the Yggy from most reports. (Just not quite as nice.) Could ya maybe please give me a hint as to what it is, donr tell me its a DAC, where can I read something about it. Thanks

Just a note to all -
The DC-1 has a bunch of digital inputs, and ONE line level analog input, which lets you use it as a preamp if you only have one analog source.
HOWEVER, anyone looking for a "digital + analog preamp" with more analog inputs should check out the SP-1. The SP-1 connects to the DC-1's analog input, and "fans out" the DC-1's single analog input into three separate line level inputs. The line level inputs are passive, and are switched by relays. The SP-1 has its own "mini" plastic remote control and, when you're using it with the DC-1, the DC-1's remote operates both. The SP-1 also has it's own high-quality phono preamp as its fourth input (quite like the XPS-1 and the phono preamp in the XSP-1).

I think it's a light harmonic Pulse infinity dac. I may be wrong on the model number

I would guess the sound would be better with the XSP-1 in the chain. However, only you can judge by comparing the different setups in your system. Every system I've heard including my own always sounds best using a dedicated pre amp.

I think it's a light harmonic Pulse infinity dac. I may be wrong on the model number That is exactly what it is. Balanced DAC and headphone amp. Sabre chip, the newish 9018aq2m. With femto clocks and dual dacs. It has been a very long time in development, but it appears to finally be seeing the light of day. It should be interesting to see how it compares to the dc-1 and yggy. Others have said it is a touch down from the yggy.
