Very minor issue - when using AppleTV, I'm getting clicking when moving around the home page. Same as 2.0 and 3.0.

Wow..I had similar also happened on one of mine...I was out of the room...I think I was using Tim's Java app...maybe it sent off something to the XMC-1 and it got its boobs in a knot...had to power down at the rear. No button response from either front panel or remote. I think the audio was dead too - but can't confirm for sure as the CD had stopped playing. Mine powered off all by itself, no pass through from TV when it happened. I used the Emo remote to power on and it booted from complete off, ie,,,,bar running across the bottom of the screen till it started. Was very strange. Just happened all by itself, powering off that is. Nick Yep, this happened to me a couple times since updating yesterday as well. I just got my unit back from being repaired and I immediately updated to 3.1 before setting everything back up. Hard to say if this is the ECC issue (reason for the repair) or a firmware issue for me .

Mine does this as well shuts off! Very annoying! Not cool when it happens when the wife is watching and I'm not around. Lucky my daughter is like me and shows her what to do to get the system working again. This has to be addressed and fixed!

Rather surprised to see XMC-1 still have issues at this stage. Shut down by itself is pretty serious. I have not bought one yet and I have a virtual 40% off card that I am holding out for XMR-1, but the current episode with XMC-1 makes me rethink.

Mine has been working fine since 3.1.

Let's see how serious the shutdown problem is. So far it is not giving me a good vibe on this.

I just did a test with Bluray Audio on the oppo...playing while turning off the tv and on again results in no nasty clicks or pops, so the issue is pretty much only with DSD. I don't have any other DSD files handy yet but will have some maybe this weekend. not sure how to get the XMC to play them...anyone now if USB can stream DSD files on the XMC?

You can't send DSD over the USB connection. It must be HDMI and if you have a 103 or 105 it must be HDMI-2. There is a setting in the Oppo setup for SACD playback under Audio Format that you can set for Auto, DSD, or PCM. Just choose DSD and if using an HDMI connection there is nothing else you have to do. Just pop in an SACD and play.

For me, I've been trying to get away from having to have my TV on so that I don't get audio dropouts when playing an SACD through the Oppo. With 3.1 I can finally have my TV off and play a SACD with the Oppo set to DSD without any issues whatsoever.

When the Patriot's play its Beethoven and Bartok. I tell the wife, "I'm multitasking!" Besides, I can only listen to commentators for a few minutes. Why do I need them to tell me what I just saw?

"I'm still trying to figure out why someone would watch TV while listening to an audio disc" I usually will listen to music while the game is on, I very rarely need somebody to tell me what I had just witnessed.

I have not bought one yet and I have a virtual 40% off card that I am holding out for XMR-1, but the current episode with XMC-1 makes me rethink. Really? I was actually thinking the complete opposite. I will never us a wifi app, or network connection and I never listen to SACD. Also, my TV doesn't have issues with inputs. I would argue that most of these issues are incredibly minor and very localized. (Ok, maybe not minor to the respective user, but relative to my use). I bet there are products you own that have far more intensive issues, but the respective manufacturer doesn't give you a moderated sounding board for every little issue that occurs. At $2k, how can you go wrong? I just purchased one. If it's 1/2 as good as they are suggesting it is, I will be ecstatic. If I was a betting man, I would guess that the XMR-1 is a year or two off and will cost several times what the XMC costs. To get 16 channels, DIRAC, HDMI 2.2, ATMOS and other codecs, with the apparent sound quality of the XMC-1. So hold onto your card and just get this on the cheap.

If you owned the XMC-1 and had the issues being discussed here you might have a different outlook. The XMC-1 at $2500 (when not on sale) is not cheap but well worth it IMO. But if you have any of the issues that effect the day to day operation of your system then it's not very pleasant.

Iirc there is a menu option on Atv that turns that off Why should one have to disable another equipment's features simply to compensate for the XMC-1 being unable to play it properly when other processors manage the perfectly simple task of digital silence?

Using xmc1 on pass through video to sony tv streaming netflix from oppo 103d. When using either oppo remote or harmony and using the right move button the xmc 1 powers off to low power setting. If you quickly use the right arrow button it does not power off. The button is obviously the same code as xmc1 power button. No real problem if you know what is causing it.

My point is this is a feature of the Atv making the clicks when moving around, the xmc is just the confit is is probably operating normally. Interestingly of all the equipment I have my dog barks when using the Atv menu or setup screens, movies and things she is fine with as are any other menus on various equipment...just the Atv's (both v2&3) So if you don't like the Atv making clicks the turn the clicks off.

Well you can send DSD certainly over USB as I do it on my iPhone to my oppo ha-2 headphone dac/amp, but have yet to see if the xmc will support it, as I'm trying to see if this is an oppo 103/105 issue or exclusively HDMI. Is nobody else using something other than an oppo to send DSD through the xmc?
