DC-1 used to record vinyl?

Planning on getting a DC-1 in the near future. Was also planning on getting Emotiva's phono preamp but thought I might go for one with a USB instead for transferring some of my vinyl albums to a digital format. Then I started wondering if the DC-1s USB could be used the same way as a phono preamp with USB.

So turntable to phono preamp to analog input on DC-1 and USB out to computer. I'm thinking the USB on the DC-1 is input only and the computer only sees it as an external sound card but wanted to check first.

Any thoughts?

The DC-1 is input only for USB. No digital outputs. A really cheap solution would be thisL

Just a note recording quality is limited to 48 khz. It can be used as a phono preamp for recording or as a regular line input for recording.
