Are the speakers listed what you want to run with the XPA-1s? If so, a real mis-match having WAY too much power for your 90+db sensitive MLs and way more power than the capacity of the Aperions.
Goals are what its all about. I don't get what you are after. Maybe its just ME? Balance is important and some would say (me included) Source First.
If you want an all-EMO amp setup? The XPA-2 would be a nice addition to the 3@XPA-100s. It won't break the bank, either.
Maybe new speakers to match which ever ones you KEEP of the set you now have?
As for the A-A/B stuff, it isn't a 'Brick Wall' and doesnt' 'switch'. It is a sliding sort of change with high bias at low powers which is the 'A' portion. As the amp is asked to deliver more power, the bias DROPS in relation to the output and you end up in A/B. And whoever noted the HEAT is probably right. 'A' amps IDLE at a good power. Efficiency of an 'A' amp can be 30% or perhaps LESS. If you live in a cold climate, this is GOOD, while here in SoCal, it'd KILL my Air Conditioning Bill while adding even MORE to the 800KwH I use monthly for the 3 worst summer months.

Examine your goals. Keep all 'bottlenecks' in perspective.
Many wonderful amps available for what you want to spend on a PAIR of the XPA-1. I like the 1L enough to briefly have considered 4 of 'em to biamp my panels. But the additional 700$+(includes PSAudio Soloist Outlet) to run yet ANOTHER dedicated line was too much extra cost.
I'd personally be more concerned with matching speakers for both tonality and sensitivity. But that's just ME.
