I've just hooked up my new XPA-5 to my NAD T747 preamp/receiver. My previous power amplifier was a Rotel RMB-1075 (it is for sale now). Oh, God! The Rotel is also a decent 5-channel amplifier but this beast exceeds my expectations! I knew that my system would improve but this flawless operation at any volume level and refined sounds, controlled dynamics... I fell in love with it! Let it be music or movies this unit performs extremely well! Because of this amp I bought new speakers that fit the system perfectly: a pair of B&W 683 s2 for fronts and an HTM61 s2 center. The B&W 601 s3's remain for surrounds.... I am already addicted to Emotiva.... I have to listen to all of my CDs/SACDs again and watch even more films on DVD & Blu-ray. Thanks Emotiva!
P.s.: I am the first XPA-5 customer here in HUNGARY/Europe at HáziMozi Stúdió in Budapest who has started to sell Emotiva a month ago. It took only 2 weeks to get this baby and I am totally satisfied!

Thanks guys, this really seems to be a nuthouse! I have spent my last two weeks reading about Emotiva (especially about XPA-5 of course) on countless webpages. I am sure I've made the right decision!

The XPA-5 was my first Emotiva amp as well and I remember the huge grin I had when I first hooked it up. Now, many Emotiva products later and I still have that same huge grin every time I turn on the home theater. Congratulations on the XPA-5 and look forward to hearing about your addiction in the future!!! Oh yeah, welcome to the Lounge!!!

Congratulations and welcome! The XPA-5 is indeed a fantastic amp. I am so glad you tried it,and that more of Europe will be exposed to the many fine Emotiva products. I have many friends in Germany who like my gear, and I could see it benefitting their systems.
Enjoy the Lounge as you enjoy your gear!

To be short and simple after one single day in Emotiva heaven: I've got all the bells and whistles that I need for the next 10-15 years! But don't forget about the punches either in addition! ))) To be honest I do like nice highs and a smooth midrange but there is one thing that I cannot tolerate: the lack of punch down under! Do I need to say that now I have a maximum of those as well and controlled like a Swiss watch? ))

B&W CM series? You're a bit ahead of me in the field of speakers! They must work fine... Anyway, I like my new 600's. They have just been broken in.

I had the RMB-1095, and the XPA-5 still clobbered it. Amazing amplifier, and gets it done for way less than most.

I view audio as a journey not a race. There are alot of great products out there. Ones available at each price point. Some dive in and are perfectly happy. Others change a little every few years(this is me) We are trying to get that perfect sound/video at our price point. Its a journey.

Congratulations great amp, love mine will power any speaker out there to insane levels. I only use about 10 watts for my speakers (98db) at most. The reserve power really brings out the bottom end.

Just sayin!! Yes, I have already realized that. I think I will not have further needs concerning HT amps (I am 49 having 16 years of experience in the HT NUTHOUSE...). This beast performs just perfectly. I do not believe that any amp could beat it for 2x-3x price. So why replace it? Need higher volume levels? Even more headroom? Not realistic... OK, if you have a large HT room you may need more... then you must take a look at the Emo monoblocks. But in a normal living room like mine the XPA-5 is more than 99 percent of people could ever dream of! I am sad that we (audiophiles) are so few... Today I have shown the system to a good friend of ours (a lady, 41 years old). She was totally floored! She could not imagine where those sounds come from!!!! After the demonstration (Avatar, projected movie + insane sound levels sometimes) she had a stomachache... Yes, she got plenty of punches around 25-100 Hz... ))

I've read this about XPA-5 in one of the threads:
"Also, my system has always had the "horsepower", but now with the Emotiva, I feel like it has the "torque" as well. Does that make sense?"
Yes, this definitely makes sense! I completely agree!

My wife who is not an audio geek like me, knew IMMEDIATELY when I introduced the xpa-5 gen 2 in the mix! The ultimate confirmation. When the Pioneer Elite receiver was handling the duties, she ALWAYS complained about the dialogue being muddied and hard to hear when watching movies in DTS-HD MA. The ONLY difference was the xpa-5 gen 2. The dynamics of EVERYTHING opened up. I sure noticed it, but the ULTIMATE stamp of approval was her simple confirmation that it sounded good now! She is apparently an audiophile and doesn't know it. For anyone on the fence, I know all about class d amps and their ability to drive loads and remain cool, however I can confirm to anyone that a good class a/b amp that has the GUTS to drive ANY load put in front of it ( Emotiva XPA-5 Gen 2) will put it to shame. It already has.
