I got a used XPA-3 from a friend for $200 it doesn't work!! But I'm very interested in EMOTIVA But i just don know if i want to spend the money on a new XPA i have monitor audio silver setup for 5.1 system with a denon 4200w ; is it worth for me spending the coin on a new XPA? I guess i could always just order it and test it and if I'm not happy just send it back for my 30 day trial...
but since i already got a good AVR not sure how much of a gain I'm going to get

Did you check the fuses on it? Gives us some more info maybe we can help you trouble shoot it. Does it not turn on? Does it turn on and there is no sound? Ask your friend if it's still under warranty. Maybe it might be cheaper to send it in for service also

Unplug the unit Take cover off Check the fuses one at a time. (Continuity test with electrical meter) Or just replace all the fuses with known good ones. Replace blown fuses if any.
Try again.
I am guessing that this has worked for your friend before they sold it to you.

+1 for checking the fuses first. It may be a lot cheaper to have it fixed than buy a new one. Give Emotiva a call.

Emotiva amps rarely fail, check the fuses first.
