I'm torn between these (although some say Die Hard is not truly a Christmas movie).

When my kids were still at home we always seemed to find A Christmas Story on the tube at least once or twice during the holidays. Both of my kids loved it and never tired of watching it every year. I actually did like parts of it more than other parts - like when the old man gets that gaudy lamp and decides it needs to have center place in the living room. And who doesn't like Jimmy Stewart in Its a Wonderful Life? There are many others but these are two of my favorites.

On a more festive note, I go with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

I'd go with home alone if you're watching with a family. I never understood die hard to be a Christmas movie, it's just the time inside the movie but has no Christmas elements other then occurring near Christmas. Otherwise we could include movies like Will Smith's "Enemy of the State" too.

It's a Wonderful Life I love the movie, especially the ending. Teacher says,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, The ending is so syrupy but it gets me every time - like the part when Sam Wainright sends the telegram about providing whatever funds George needs, and then his brother Harry shows up.
