I wonder if anyone else has experienced a similar problem to this, or has any suggestions? Let me explain... I own both the XMC-1 with full Dirac Licence. I also own a full multi channel licence for Dirac Live installed on my Mac Mini connected to XMC-1 After running Dirac for Emotiva and playing 2 channel PCM audio, via either USB or HDMI input in "Stereo" mode with Dirac speaker preset enabled, i get a significant channel imbalance. The right channel is significantly more dominant than the left. The strange thing is, if I take the exact same measurements using the exact same MIC at the same time, but using Dirac Live on my mac mini, and playing the same audio files via the same playback software (Roon) processed via Dirac Live and output through the same USB or HDMI inputs, this time in "Direct" mode with speaker preset 1 engaged (Not Dirac on XMC-1) the channel balance is perfect! So, eliminating a few variables... 1. Its not the power amp 2. Its not the playback software (Roon) 3. Its not the MIC measurements 4. Its not the Dirac software 5. Its not a fault with XMC-1 inputs It seems to me that this may be a fault with the Emotive Dirac implementation...anyone with ay ideas? ? Thanks

I had this happen in my first Dirac run. I ran it again and was more careful about setting the levels and Mic gain then, it greatly improved

Mine have always been within 1 dB across the board.

Hi, have the same problem. Did you find the solution?

Mine has always done the same thing and makes the sound louder to the right and the overall sound is terrible.

I had this when I tried the socketman mic file. I went back to my original Dirac run that used the Emo file as I didn't have time to re-run it.

What Mic are you using? It might be the Emotiva mic calibrated file that Dirac has loaded. a calibrated UMIK-1 with its 90 degree calibrated files loaded will give you best results in both Dirac

I recently tried the new Acoustic Timing Reference in REW to check whether the speakers were correctly aligned by the XMC-1. They weren't and were out by up to 40cm on some channels. That would link in with this discussion. It does seem to be inaccurate at times, wonder where the fault lies, XMC-1 or Dirac?

Yep Dirac Full and CSL Calibrated Umik-1. Weird. Try updating the firmware again. Reset your xmc-1 and run Dirac again. Make sure the Umik-1 has the 90 degree file loaded in Dirac. Make sure AGC (automatic gain control) in windows is off and nothing else is running. Try again If you still getting it, try using the Emotiva mic. It could be a defective mic.

Thanks, confident I know what I am doing, had the unit a while and had a Minidsp 88A previously. I'm pretty familiar with Dirac, there's nothing wrong with the mic, and AGC is off.
It's simply inaccurate. Probably not many people have measured post dirac, I reckon it is an issue with XMC-1 and if they did they would have similar results. It isn't that obvious when playing material at least.
I did all nine positions in the same place just out of curiosity. Then measured in REW with Mic in the exact same position to be absolutely accurate to test. Still had errors.
When I tested in REW with Dirac off the measurements were spot on ie the exact distances so REW is working correctly.

How can I check if the Umik-1 has the 90 degree file loaded in Dirac?

How can I check if the Umik-1 has the 90 degree file loaded in Dirac? You must have the full version of Dirac to use another mic. In the initial Dirac Full screen there is an option to select a mic cal file.

Ok, I'm going to reset my xmc-1 check the Umik-1 file and run Dirac again. Hope to return with good news.
