Good to see the turnaround.

Good to see the turnaround. I don't see it as a turnaround. If you read the whole thread I hope you will see my perspective rather you agree or not. The simple summery is that I buy the products because of price point. I can not hear the difference on most products like amplifiers (I can on DACs but cost does not seem to dictate better). I do not consider the products to have the same fit and finish as some of the higher end brands and accept the engineering compromises. For example I had to take my XSP-1 apart to re center the volume knob. I am ok with this stuff because the price point is great and the performance is good enough that I don't hear any practical difference.

Perhaps using the word "inexpensive" instead of "cheap" might help a bit. "Cheap" has several definitions and personal connotations. "Inexpensive" means one thing.
Emotiva = Inexpensive High Performance = Value = Good Bang For The Buck

Everyone, let's be respectful of other opinions even if we disagree with them. Also keep in mind that when you read something that it is easy to be taken out of context. Please take a minute before you respond and please try and understand what each other is actually trying to say. This forum supports open dialog and discussion about products, but not negativity towards products from any company (not just Emotiva) or towards other members.

You sound very angry and hostile. Did Emotiva hurt you? Well I find it interesting that you say that... I'm listening to my DC-1 and hearing the word "cheap" and that's the "only" reason to consider purchase makes me wonder whether I'm listening to the same component you are referring to. I am not blind to say that Emotiva's the be all and end all of performance. It would be foolhardy to do so. I know several people that have moved on from Emotiva gear to different types of brands. However most of Emotiva's products are proven performers. I have heard several way more expensive products and their performance couldn't get near Emotiva's. The Manley tube praemp and some Ayer class A amps come to mind. Are there better products? I am sure they are. Pass Labs for instance makes great gear! But currently these are the only ones I'm interested in from a price AND performance standpoint. Just saying the only reason to consider it is it's cheap is premature. It performs competitively well in my opinion sometimes outperforming more expensive products. Though I'll grant you that it does get outperformed at times. Threads like this are a reminder of why people on other forums laugh at Emotiva fans. I like and use the products but the way some of you talk about the products is embarrassing. It's like the guy who buys a Subaru and won't admit that it does not have th fit and finish of an S Class. The Subaru is a fine car that performs well at a good price but it's not a mercadies and pecocking like it is is embarrassing. As for the DC-1, they are a great deal on the used market. Watch the emporium and you should find one for $300 or less. I know of nothing better under $300 new or used as a dac.

Joking aside its not Emotiva it is the hyper sensitive followers who attack someone if they are not all in enough for them. I think that group hurts the emo perception on the internet (at least on other forums) far more than it helps it.

Only see two examples, one at 299.00 no remote , the other 300.00 plus shipping, still not bad at all deal. Other two? No listing that I see. Thanks, edit, found the others. Rare but there they are.

Especially Rage Against the Machine if you are into that sort of thing.

Quick question regarding DC-1 RCA out. Is it a true line-out when DC1 is in fixed output mode. Or some sort of volume set to 100% kind of thing?

Quick question regarding DC-1 RCA out. Is it a true line-out when DC1 is in fixed output mode. Or some sort of volume set to 100% kind of thing? The DC-1 has a volume controll, I often set it to zero and use another volume controll in the chain. IE; when I was running my XSP-1 and DC-1, i always used the preamp to control volume.
