DC-1 3.5mm Miniplug to RCA Analog Inputs

Want to run a Pono Player to the analog inputs on the DC-1.

My question is will it hurt to leave this cable plugged to the DC-1 analog inputs even when nothing is connected to the other end (3.5mm miniplug)? My first thought is no as long as another input on the DC-1 selected, but not sure.

Second question - anyone have an idea what cables would be required to use the Pono Player in balanced mode directly into my two xlr cables that connect to two Stealth 8s?

First question. No. It will not hurt. However if the other end is touched or touches say another electric conducting surface (possibly the ground) you may hear a loud buzz. So as long as some common sense is utlized I don't think there is any harm leaving hte miniplug just "out".

There is also a 3.5 mm coupler that you can buy from radioshack to "cap" it if it worries you.

As for the second question I didn't realize the Pono had any kind of balanced capability. Turns out it may have or at least a version of it might.
