Any plans for Emotiva standalone DSP units utilizing Dirac.
MiniDSP has a great piece of gear and are generating a lot of sales. However they need a XLR multichannel unit. Many avsforum members won't purchase the DDRC-88 because of the lack of XLR myself included.
A12 channel version would be amazing.

Sure Atmos capable, as well as Auro but why stop at 12 Channels, would rather 16 or so.

Actually, the DDRC-88 has balanced inputs and outputs, they just use phoenix terminal blocks instead of XLR connectors. You can buy 8 short XLR extension cables, cut them in half, and wire them to the phoenix terminal blocks, and even mount the ends in a rack block.

I'm aware of the Phoenix connections but just don't like them. I had a minidsp 2x4 and really hated the Phoenix connectors. Personnel preference I suppose.

Ahh, OK, I misunderstood. I read "lack of XLR" to mean "lack of balanced", but that's not what you wrote at all... sorry.

I hear great things about their responsiveness. I know they aren't likely to give up the 1U form factor that so many love, but they just have to take their board and stick it in a different box to get some more customers. I'd be surprised if they weren't already working towards a larger channel count unit. -tm

Would you be interested in a 1RU unit that connected to the DDRC-88A that was essentially a 16 port XLR patch bay? That is, 8 in, and 8 out? I'll bet they would sell such a thing if it was suggested.
